Welcoming a 10% Trump tariff rate as a ‘Brexit benefit’ is like being grateful for a full tank of petrol after all the wheels have fallen off your car. Brexit has made us poorer and weaker, wiping £140 billion from the UK economy. The lower tariff rate is a drop in the ocean.
A graph showing new polling from More in Common, which reveals most Brita, including Remain voters, think that the lower tariff was a benefit of Brexit. 23% of all Brits said the lower tariff makes the decision to leave the EU worth it overall. 34% of Brits said the lower tariff is a benefit of leaving the European Union, but does not make the decision to leave worth it overall. 20% said they didn't know and 22% said the lower tariff is not a benefit of leaving the European Union.
