Current doppler estimate - just for reference annual rainfall here is usually ~10 inches because, umm, desert

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 23/09/2026

Just woke up to a sharp crack of thunder rattling the house and a flash flood warning. The street is a creek and the yard looks like a turbulent lake. I'm fine. Really. It's just very rude imho and I'm certain others here are having a far worse night.

It depends. If it has a "wait for it" hook in the description without just saying what it is up front I'll just skip it. I also get kinda salty about three minute videos that could've been a paragraph of text with feels like about 90% of videos. That said if it has a decent description I'll look.

I don't see enough short form video here to bother with the settings or throw my phone

It looks like it will be a bit damp this week. The forecast is for 3.5" here in Las Cruces - that is a LOT of water for such a short time frame and it won't even be the worst of it. The goatheads are gonna have a field day with this 😕

I know a lot of "guitar guys" think cigar box guitars are just toys but I assure you the ones I build certainly can get up and move, even with someone of my playing skill "Cardinal" build #039, with a Behringer Ultra Metal pedal and a '52 Magnatone Varsity amp #cigarboxguitar #cbg #threestring

NPD. This Magus Pro is the first pedal I've ever had from TC Electronics and it nails the whole ProCo Rat thing perfectly. As you can see from my settings l like a fat Rat. I'll be shuffling things around on my boards today to make it a permanent addition.

I normally don't post political content here because there's rarely anything I can intelligently add to the extant discourse, but if y'all weren't there and want to hear and see what I heard and saw, there is video on Youtube shot by actual professionals www.youtube.com/live/rt-sCFv...

Sure, this might make a landlord happy - but if I were a kid this would just make me want to go outside where the color is

NPD. Again. I'm not mad at this. This Satone is a one trick budget pony, but it does that trick very, very well. This pedal is a hard clipper that has gain for days and it very nearly hits that sweet spot that exists somewhere between a Rat and a Metal Zone, which is what I like.

NPD, again. This one arrived today for review. While it's a properly competent bog standard reverb, I don't know how I should feel about this one... umm, because MOIST 💦

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 08/09/2026

I get that. Fortunately most of my small pedals are pretty much set and forget and this one is no different, and just above unity with this one is a good place to be.

I'd say the plan worked purrrfectly 🐱

I know, right? At this point I'm just about resigned to just plucking prickly pears from my yard and making nopales

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 07/09/2026

NPD - I've recently discovered I properly like Rat-based pedals so buying this new for twenty bucks on a flash sale was a no-brainer - it was either this or, like, a small package of ground beef. I miss burgers 🍔

That's a solid ni madres pendejo naranja from me

Working on it - New Mexico used to vote solid red and it takes a long minute to dig out from a hole like that

Haha yeah that's pretty good

Big board, little board - it seems I've leveled up to two tiers I really need to get some good clips of what these can do - I feel like covid ran me over this week so that'll be a minute (Signal chains in the alt text)

Aklot Dual Tier signal chain: Stritch Tuner > JHS Little Black Buffer (under the board) > Digitech Drop > Klowra Dive > JHS Unicorn > Donner Lax Comp > Meowdulator > JHS Morning Glory Clean > JHS Violet > Aklot Metal Distortion > Rowin Noise Gate > J.Rockett Melody OD/EQ > Jimothy > EHX Eddy > EHX Bad Stone > Aklot Flanger > Tremolo > JHS Lucky Cat > Joyo Atmosphere

Power (under the board): Voodoo Plus 3 with 4X extension brick

Stritch Mini signal chain: SR Tuner > JHS Fumble > Catalainbread Blood Donor > Afot Noise Gate > Pogolab Analog Delay

Built in power supply

I totally understand the not going - I mean, yeah, it was a great experience those times I went and I know friends I wouldn't have otherwise met, but I'm pretty much over it in its current form.

NPD, again - Klowra Dive Pitch Shifter. This thing is insane in a very good way. Controls are actually simple and intuitive. The octaver effects I can mix with this thing are sweet, and the signal stays together surprisingly well when you slide into the basement -3 octaves down. Yes, -3. Easy. 😈

I can almost hear the cap coming off that Sharpie from here

000

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 02/09/2026

NPD. It's a tuner. It's not any more or less accurate than my other tuners, but it's easier to read at a glance and more responsive. However, I am NOT sure what that creature on the front is. My mind says angry ape - but I could be completely wrong here. Anyone have a different interpretation?

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 02/09/2026

Yeah lunch here in the states has a definite vibe lately

000

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 02/09/2026

NPD - imho this Caline Cyprian is basically a klon clone. It sounds very, umm, klon. I mean, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I just don't vibe with the whole klon thing as prefer my dirt with a little more bite. This one is going back in the box after I write up my full review.

Ah, yes, the culturally appropriated whiney butthurt of the mildly inconvenienced mediocre white man

NPD - the Limited Edition Gold version of the Catalinbread Blood Donor, one of a final run of fifty. It's a variant of the Katzenkönig, which has roots in Rat and Tone Bender circuits. This plays properly well with the clean Orange amps I like to run!
