Current doppler estimate - just for reference annual rainfall here is usually ~10 inches because, umm, desert

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 23/09/2026

Just woke up to a sharp crack of thunder rattling the house and a flash flood warning. The street is a creek and the yard looks like a turbulent lake. I'm fine. Really. It's just very rude imho and I'm certain others here are having a far worse night.

It looks like it will be a bit damp this week. The forecast is for 3.5" here in Las Cruces - that is a LOT of water for such a short time frame and it won't even be the worst of it. The goatheads are gonna have a field day with this 😕

NPD. This Magus Pro is the first pedal I've ever had from TC Electronics and it nails the whole ProCo Rat thing perfectly. As you can see from my settings l like a fat Rat. I'll be shuffling things around on my boards today to make it a permanent addition.

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 13/09/2026

So I actually put my pants on for this - worth it That ASL guy was straight fire 🔥

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 11/09/2026

NPD. Again. I'm not mad at this. This Satone is a one trick budget pony, but it does that trick very, very well. This pedal is a hard clipper that has gain for days and it very nearly hits that sweet spot that exists somewhere between a Rat and a Metal Zone, which is what I like.

Revised US Space Force uniforms have dropped 🚀

NPD, again. This one arrived today for review. While it's a properly competent bog standard reverb, I don't know how I should feel about this one... umm, because MOIST 💦

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 07/09/2026

NPD - I've recently discovered I properly like Rat-based pedals so buying this new for twenty bucks on a flash sale was a no-brainer - it was either this or, like, a small package of ground beef. I miss burgers 🍔

Big board, little board - it seems I've leveled up to two tiers I really need to get some good clips of what these can do - I feel like covid ran me over this week so that'll be a minute (Signal chains in the alt text)

Aklot Dual Tier signal chain: Stritch Tuner > JHS Little Black Buffer (under the board) > Digitech Drop > Klowra Dive > JHS Unicorn > Donner Lax Comp > Meowdulator > JHS Morning Glory Clean > JHS Violet > Aklot Metal Distortion > Rowin Noise Gate > J.Rockett Melody OD/EQ > Jimothy > EHX Eddy > EHX Bad Stone > Aklot Flanger > Tremolo > JHS Lucky Cat > Joyo Atmosphere

Power (under the board): Voodoo Plus 3 with 4X extension brick

Stritch Mini signal chain: SR Tuner > JHS Fumble > Catalainbread Blood Donor > Afot Noise Gate > Pogolab Analog Delay

NPD, again - Klowra Dive Pitch Shifter. This thing is insane in a very good way. Controls are actually simple and intuitive. The octaver effects I can mix with this thing are sweet, and the signal stays together surprisingly well when you slide into the basement -3 octaves down. Yes, -3. Easy. 😈

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 02/09/2026

NPD. It's a tuner. It's not any more or less accurate than my other tuners, but it's easier to read at a glance and more responsive. However, I am NOT sure what that creature on the front is. My mind says angry ape - but I could be completely wrong here. Anyone have a different interpretation?

030

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 02/09/2026

Yeah lunch here in the states has a definite vibe lately

000

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 02/09/2026

NPD - imho this Caline Cyprian is basically a klon clone. It sounds very, umm, klon. I mean, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I just don't vibe with the whole klon thing as prefer my dirt with a little more bite. This one is going back in the box after I write up my full review.

NPD - the Limited Edition Gold version of the Catalinbread Blood Donor, one of a final run of fifty. It's a variant of the Katzenkönig, which has roots in Rat and Tone Bender circuits. This plays properly well with the clean Orange amps I like to run!

030

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 25/08/2026

Currently, but, hey, it's a dry heat. I'm also running a fever and I'm pretty sure 'rona is the culprit. Both added together and I am altogether uncomfortable today and it might be part of the reason I'm irrationally annoyed that my weather app has this rando dudebro as a background.

Fresh off the workbench, build #068. "La Sauceda" is a custom order three-string with a smoky woody twang that pairs well with late nights and bar room fights. Strung with 36/26/17 D'Addario strings and tuned to GDG. #cigarboxguitar #cbg #threestring

Current boards, top and bottom - my cable management isn't pro level to be sure but I'm happy with this 🎸

NPD, because Jimothy. This bit crush cryptid is going straight into my Notadumble FX loop - initial impressions are delicious and crunchy like a leftover pizza crust. I like it! 🦝

081

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 30/07/2026

NPD, completely reworking my board's dirt section with JHS. The Violet replaces my Metal Zone which I can dig back out if I ever want to chug. The rest opens up a much wider palette of tones than I've had before. I'm also back to building so I'll have new instruments to share in a couple of weeks 🎸

090

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 22/07/2026

Yeah, I had to. Because Jimothy. The orange V1s had a limited run of fifty and are sold out. I should be getting mine soonish. You can go pre-order the bare metal grey V2 here: catalinbread.com/products/jim... No kickback - I just think they're cool. #guitarpedal #jimothy #bitcrusher

This fresh creamsicle showed up here for review just before it started raining here at the home office - I may be preoccupied for the rest of the day

I really wish I could be as unbothered as our resident house hippo

050

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 17/07/2026

I'm supposed to be cleaning up the shop so I can build more guitars, but I received a larger pedalboard and was distracted, because, umm, pedals. I went with a more linear layout for my main board - this will probably last until the new JHS Notadumble V2 comes in. (Signal chain in the alt text)

Signal chain: Swiff Tuner > JHS Little Black Buffer (not shown, under the board) > Digitech Drop > Meowdulator >JHS Unicorn > Donner Lax Comp > J.Rockett Melody Overdrive/EQ > Boss Metal Zone > Rowin Noise Gate > JHS 3 Series Chorus > EHX Bad Stone > MoVall Tremolo > Caline Simon Delay > Hoerev Mini Universe > Joyo Atmosphere > Orange Crush 35RT, foot Switch is currently used to swap clean/dirt channel

Images at my fenceline here at the home office about, oh, half an hour ago. Ignorant neighborhood dumbasses with a fireworks fetish continued to set fireworks off while this was happening. I'm fine, fire department came out and it's out now, but holy fuck y'all this is NOT the year for this bullshit

Fire danger is still a huge thing this All Glory to the Empire weekend - just burn a burger or something on the grill and call it good

041

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 28/06/2026

A bit of what I was making before I started building guitars. I only ever made four of these cup coaster sets as a numbered set - they all came out great but were a proper pain in the ass to actually put together, because aliens 👽

040

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 27/06/2026

Latest pedalboard revision, because none of y'all asked. I mean, the Meowdulator is certainly a fun pedal but this setup is far more useful. (Signal chain in the alt text) #guitarpedal #pedalboard

Signal chain: Swiff Tuner > JHS Little Black Buffer (under the board) > Digitech Drop > JHS Unicorn V2 > Donner Lax Comp > J Rockett Melody OD/EQ > Boss Metal Zone > Rowin Noise Gate > JHS 3 Series Chorus > EHX Bad Stone > Caline Simon Delay > Joyo Atmosphere > Orange Crush 35RT amp with clean/dirty channel controlled by footswitch

For the curious, this is the mini board that I use for booth demos - it plays very well with cigar box guitars (Signal chain in the alt text)

Signal chain: SR Tuner > JHS Fumble > Azor Heavy Metal >Afot Noise Gate > Aitone Reverb > Orange Crush 20

Wolf Proctor @nehiwolfart.com · 08/06/2026

Sometime later today it'll be "pack all the things" for the Tooele Arts Festival. I have seven builds ready to go. I just need to make sure everything is charged and stage everything else. And, oh yeah, I need to pack a bag for all my clothes and stuff. But, umm, coffee first, because reasons. ☕️
