Autumn leaves show us there can be beauty in decay. It's part of the natural order of things. The colorful leaves on the ground turn into mulch that feeds new life. And eventually it will be summer again.
Ink and watercolor painting of a multicolored pile of autumn leaves on the wet pavement is covered with glistening water droplets left after a rain shower. The Fall leaves display various shades of red, orange, and yellow, along with some dark spots starting the natural process of decay.

I painted this while sitting at a picnic table in our campground at Big Bear Lake years ago. It was late afternoon, the day was cooling, I could hear the birds in the forest, and the kids playing together. This painting hangs over my desk in my office, and brings me right back to that peaceful day.
This watercolor painting depicts a tranquil forest scene with tall trees and dappled sunlight. Shadows play across the earthen ground, hinting at a gentle breeze. A blue Stellar Jay sits on the branch of the nearest tree.

Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) starts on Friday night. It's been quite a year. I'm hoping that 5787 will be a year of joy, life, health, abundance and only good things for all of us. Enjoy my favorite honey cake recipe for a sweet new year. L'shana tova u'metuka! #RoshHashana #RoshHashanah

Here's something I've been up to — I painted an ink and watercolor depiction of the Hebrew calendar cycle. Each month features the Jewish holidays, symbols, or seasons related to that month. You can find this and my other artwork at nedraweinreich.com. #Art #Jewish #JewishHolidays #JewSky
Ink and watercolor painting. A circular diagram illustrates the Hebrew calendar with months labeled in Hebrew and English. Each segment depicts Jewish holidays or symbols associated with each month, as well as scenes of seasons in the Land of Israel. The title says in Hebrew "Ma'agal Hashana" (The Cycle of the Year) and at the bottom in English, "The Hebrew Calendar Cycle." In the center is a golden star of David on a royal blue background, surrounded by 4 phases of the moon (on which the months are based). Golden arrows show the direction to follow for the correct order of the months.

The circle is divided into 12 segments, with the months' names in Hebrew on the outside of the circle, and the names transliterated into English on the inner circle.

Hello old friends! It's been a while since I've been on this site. None of the social media sites are very satisfying, and I miss my old Twitter professional community. Everyone scattered in the past few years, and the platforms all have gotten worse and worse. Are any of you still here?

for pity’s sake, I am BEGGING university leaders to stop framing this issue in terms of what this will cost the university. people dont care! EXPLAIN WHAT THIS WILL COST THE PUBLIC: closed hospitals and clinics, skipped treatments, loss of access to experimental drugs, unemployment, recession
sreenshot from the new york times reporting that Stanford University’s provost is talking about how the loss of funding from national institutes of health funding will cost the university $160 million. that’s not the way to get this changed — the people think “stanford is rich; no big deal.” leaders need to talk about what this will cost the public

Be aware that there is someone on here who is pretending to be an artist (with a real person's stolen pics) and offering via DM to paint your portrait. They'll even pay you to be their muse. "She" got hilariously huffy when I expressed skepticism. You're welcome to paint me for free if you'd like!😆

This is extremely concerning (and not just because these are my clients). Cutting off potentially life-saving communications for political reasons is not how you improve the wellbeing of Americans.
