From the article. Between consenting adults, and far from the wildest thing I've seen people be into. On a practical level, he could get in trouble for (maybe) using an agency-issued gun for this, even though he said it was a personal handgun. Tl;dr: not abuse, just edgeplay
A firearm used during sex. Fultz confirmed that images provided by his ex-girlfriend showed him placing a gun in her mouth and pointing it at the back of her head during sex. She told investigators the encounters were consensual but said she came to view the conduct as alarming for a sworn deputy. Fultz said the weapon was his personal firearm. Investigators noted the gun resembled the agency-issued handgun assigned to him right after the April 2025 fatal shooting. He acknowledged disregarding the firearms safety training he had been given.

Post by David Sirota on Substack:

The dispassionate takeaway from this poll is that corporate Dems and AIPAC just spent $60 million telling Michigan voters that Abdul El-Sayed is a terrorist and yet even after that reckless onslaught El- Sayed is nonetheless miraculously within 4 points heading into the general election.

Corporate Democrats clearly hope El-Sayed loses, even if that means Democrats losing the Senate, because corporate Democrats believe him losing will help them retain their internal party power - which is the only thing they care about.

For my part, I don't know who is gonna win this race, but the fact that it's this close after corporate Democrats & AIPAC spent that much money is truly incredible.

It's incredibly easy to make your food look unappetizing. These are from Google Maps, taken from the same restaurant. I don't like restaurants using AI for menu photos, but in the same way I don't like them using stock photos. But I hold the two at the same level. I understand why they'd use AI.

Now listen to my tale of woe:
Glass bones and paper skin.
I break my legs each morning,
Afternoon my arms again.
I lie awake until my heart attacks
Put me to sleep.
You can help me through,
If you each buy two—
Cause my bills are high,
And my healthcare too—
I'm alive by selling chocolate.

Thinking about the "digital photo frames" that are really 32" 1080p TVs that only display a slideshow of media you upload to their cloud. I desperately want someone to test their unlimited AWS cloud storage claim and upload every Family Guy episode to make the ultimate ADHD second screen.

A lot of people complaining about it using "the Pixar style," but it's not really that. It's fully possible to give your characters and movie a distinct visual identity. You would not mistake these shots for being from the same film.

Look, a lot of the world sucks right now, but distancing from that: it's really cool to be alive and in the industry during a tech boom. These numbers are very impressive right now, but they'll be a joke in a year. It's fun seeing Moore's Law at work again.
At least for DeepSeek V3, Tenstorrent claims its four-node Blackhole Galaxy Superclusters can process a 100,000 token prompt — the equivalent of 166 pages of text — in less than four seconds.

Meanwhile, we're told the systems can churn out up to 300 tokens a second per user, and that they expect to increase that to 350 through software refinements in the near future.

What on Earth was this room? It makes zero sense to have a bunk bed next to a chandelier, let alone an exercise bike in front of the ladder. Whoever staged this did a wild job, but also in what world does a chandelier make sense in a room this small anyway?
A photo from the Zillow listing. The left wall features a glass panel door and a wall of closets. The ceiling features a tall chandelier with lots of dangling pieces. In the corner opposite the camera, taking up a quarter of the room, is a gray bunk bed, the ladder of which is blocked by an exercise bike with a large screen on the front. The only other items in the room are a pale blue mat in the bottom right corner and a small piece of abstract art on the wall.

This is the new vendor-branded media player. Or network manager. Or email client. That preinstalled software with a massively overbuilt UI that nobody used, launched with Windows, and ate all your default file associations. It even LOOKS like it was put together by The Skins Factory.
A crop of the cover image for the quote replied article. Focus on a laptop screen running Windows 11 with an empty desktop, save for a frosted pull-down app overlaid on the top third of the screen. On the left is a series of very small notes in a 3-by-2 grid, each with a title and three short lines of text. In the center is an LLM chat interface with white-on-frosted-white text, with a large text input below labeled "Ask IQ" and flanked by a microphone (left) and "IQ" button (right). On the right is a nearby device indicator, similar to an old Wi-Fi or Bluetooth tracker (Lenovo comes to mind) labeled NearSense.

THIS is what horrifies me about AI. If the creation part is automated, all you have is the jump from idea to selling a product. Unless you're a marketing exec, this is a nightmare. I don't want a world where everyone is a startup. But I also want to be able to eat and pay bills, like everyone else.
