Europe’s car industry faces a triple challenge: China’s subsidised export surge, US tariffs/IRA rollback, & weak EU demand. @lucasguttenberg.bsky.social, @nilsredeker.bsky.social, & @sandertordoir.bsky.social argue for a coordinated "Buy-European" EV eco-bonus ➡️ bst-europe.eu/economy-secu...

When counter-tariffs are floated in the EU, they're often quickly derailed by member states especially exposed to the country in question. This time, it is of course the US. My colleague @etiennehoera.d-64.social & co-authors @aslak.bsky.social & @aleichthammer.bsky.social have some ideas to help 👇

The articles I've seen seriously considering the pros & cons of the floated US purchase or acquisition by force of Greenland are shameful. So far major international news outlets are failing the test & are already sanewashing the upcoming Trump administration before it even takes office.

Part of the EU response to the US Inflation Reduction Act is STEP, the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform. It could bring investment to projects that support a range of important green & digital technologies. Could it also help cohesion? My thoughts here: globaleurope.eu

Sometimes other things, especially concerning the US, my original home. Follow if that sounds good 😀
