@nathanevansfox.bsky.social just dropped one of if not the finest piece of criticism I've read on this topic. Not content to have released what might be the best country record of the year, he's also out here raising the bar for criticism. Guy's a beast: nathanevansfox.substack.com/p/authentici...

Hi friends. I’m trying to get my bills current and eventually relocate, which I urgently need to do, but it’s been especially hard since my car was repossessed and I lost my SNAP benefits (due to an administrative screw-up). Anything you can send me would help a lot! 💕 Venmo/Cashapp: claymationary

I went to the grand reopening of the African American Civil War museum this week and the timing is just right — its mission to preserve Black history is more relevant now than ever

Not sure if the Starlite ruins are still there, but that was the other big rural teen movie hangout spot

Abandoned Starlite drive in theater. Two big red stars are in the foreground, squat red building and theater screen in a field in the midground, and behind that a prominent Allegheny mountain ridge

It was a great spot (and a killer summer job if you could get it). For LOTR the Bellefonte High nerds would skip school and camp out front to ensure good seats, going to eat in shifts up the hill at Jim's, which I believe is still there.

Looking at ways to raise the cold hard cash needed to print this comic. I don't have anything against kickstarter, but I'd rather just rely on preorders to help fund the printing. Would you preorder this comic? It'd be about 68 pages, risograph printed, probably around $15.

Really enjoying this mass convergence of videos auto-playing AND auto-muting. The perfect design pattern. Fortunately, access to the playhead is collapsed in some way and has to be revealed so that you can struggle to precisely tap a too-small tap target. They've really thought of everything!

I especially find it weird when people act surprised at e.g. confederate flags in rural Pennsylvania where I grew (because union state) as if these things haven't been an ideological live wire in border country for hundreds of years. The cold comfort of thought-terminating map lines.
