In addition to not killing my dexterity, I'm working on savoring every second of October. It's my favorite month (I feel this is obvious) & goes so quickly. I'm trying to teach myself to pay attention to time. I have no internal clock at all; time just slips by me. Bullet journal save me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Making ACEO sets with a shared element. So far I've done a thunderstorm with the clouds all painted together so it's one storm across the set, and these with Percy Shelley's poem The Moon written across the set so each one has a fragment of the poem. #aceo #atc #poetry #traditionalart

Please remember: they share their work and accomplishments all the time as a matter of survival. No one else will be their hype man.

That grant? It's the only thing keeping them going during these slow months.

This flashy opportunity? They have been trying to make it happen for a year with only hope to keep them going and it's finally happening!

That exhibit? It's the only one they got into out of the 15 they submitted for.

That new painting they posted? They kinda need it to sell so they can pay the rent next month.

So be kind in your thoughts. Imagine if your job required social media presence on four platforms to make sure ends meet.

And if you see your friends or acquaintances post art that you like, please share it! It can make all the difference sometimes.

My favorite option so far is using my grandmothers' maiden names. Always wanted to take my mom's maiden name until I had to spell it a hundred times for people dealing with my aunt's estate 😂 Although with it not being my legal name... hmm.

I can file a DBA for $25 👀 So I could choose a name to use professionally without the incredible hassle of changing my legal name. Never went back to my maiden name (though it's my middle name now) bc because it's a patronymic, not to mention my family issues. Plus the aforementioned hassle.
