Brock Purdy's 119.3 passer rating leads all QBs who have at least 100 pass attempts this season and his 84.7 QBR leads everybody. And he's played 3 of the top-6 rated pass defenses vs. QBs in the league (LAR, DEN, SEA)

This is a good comparison. But Ayo’s contract starts at 19.3M *this year* when the cap is $165M. Podz’s starts at $18.9M next year when the cap is $176M. And Ayo is 26yo, so he’s unlikely to improve substantially. Podz is 23yo; expect him to get significantly better.

This is a team-friendly deal for Podz. It’s a little more than the full MLE. Podz is already worth the MLE, and he’s only 23yo. Based on his age, he should get better every year of this contract.

One of the most encouraging things from Yax these first two games has been the rebounding. He’s had 9 in each game, playing only about 20 minutes per game. That will be huge for the Dubs if it continues.

Kuminga turned down a 3-year offer with the Warriors (3rd year team option) because he wanted to be a free agent sooner. He would have been locked up for $25M if he’d taken that offer. Now he’s hoping for the MLE and probably won’t even get that.

This is the right move. Balogun landed on the other player’s ankle, but there was nothing inherently dangerous about the play. He was going for the ball. Soccer is a contact sport and sometimes fair but physical play results in inadvertent injuries. That wasn’t a cardable offense.

Yaxel Lendeborg can't miss! 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting, including 4-for-4 on threes. Cameron Carr off to a good start for the Lakers too with 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting, including 3-for-5 on threes.

Which defender gave Victor Wembanyama the most trouble in the 2026 playoffs? Karl-Anthony Towns. In the 182 possessions in which KAT was the primary defender on Wemby, he shot just 39% (16-for-41 FGs), including 1-of-5 from 3PT.

Feels like Post is somewhat important, since we’re old and thin at center. But I guess both Dray and Yaxel can play some center in a pinch. Is Jones more of a SF or a SG?

I mean Brad Stevens wanted him. But if you trust Pelinka over Stevens, then we’re going to disagree about a lot of bball questions. So perhaps best to simply agree to disagree on NBA champ Mitchell Robinson.

Facts. But at least we have a lot of playable depth at those positions. If KP is out we have Horford, and vice versa. If Bron is out, we have Yaxel and Dray and Gui. If Melton is out, we have Podz and Will and Jones (if he’s playable).

Seems like an overpay on trade assets and on salary. Lakers would have been better off beating the Celtics’ offer for Mitchell Robinson and keeping their picks and swaps.

I'll go back to what I've been saying for a while: GSWs really like Jimmy Butler and don't want to trade him. Doesn't mean they won't ever do it. But I don't think "trade Butler + picks + pay AD the max to make LeBron happy" is on that level. Or that they've been asked to do it.

Put it this way: There STILL hasn't been a highly drafted young player supposedly mishandled by Steve Kerr who has gone on to flourish elsewhere. And I never understood the social-media presumption that Kuminga absolutely would be the first.

There’s a very strong negative correlation in this chart between points scored and teammates’ points scored. This same chart could also be spun as, “only six players in the NBA score more points per possession than Jaylen Brown.” Since his teams also win, this might be a trade off that makes sense.

The Knicks getting good minutes tonight from Shamet, Deuce, Mitch and Alvarado really underscored the value of Mike Brown seeing the regular season as an opportunity to explore what his bench might be able to give, and to show he trusted them to give it. yhoo.it/42WJkQ3
“You know, Steve Kerr, Gregg Popovich — they were guys that went deep into their bench, and they both always used to say, ‘It's not about now, it's about the postseason,’” Brown said after Game 3. “You know, you keep guys engaged by doing that, and you do develop not just the bench, but the team as well, because guys get used to playing with other guys, just in case someone goes down.”
