Had a chance to get really NBA transaction nerdy on today's @frontofficeshow.bsky.social. It was about the Knicks transaction sequence and was deep into CBA requirements. I think I may have even gone too far for @trevorlanenba.bsky.social this time around! Episode should be up on YouTube soon.

NBA camp player to keep an eye on: John Ukomadu with the Detroit Pistons. He was one of the better defenders in the G League last year. 6'7" versatile wing with good hands and instincts. Shot well in the GL last year too. Someone to know for a future callup or two-way spot.

Charlotte may use the Collin Sexton TPE that they have to acquire Dillingham. Doing so would create a $9.7M TPE for Hield. This is likely the path the Hornets will take to create a larger TPE that expires later.

The Bulls will go over the salary cap by acquiring Buddy Hield for Rob Dillingham. Still $34.6M away from the luxury tax. The Hornets drop to $25.6M under the luxury tax by acquiring Dillingham for Hield. Charlotte created about a $2.7M TPE in the deal too.

There are scenarios where Golden State could have more than $60M in cap space, but that would involve more or less clearing the deck of all non-guaranteed salary for next season.

Stephen Curry’s extension comes in about $20M lower than his max. Warriors can still create $40-$50M in cap space in the summer of 2027.

Anyone else surprised The Big Bang Theory didn't make this list? I don't mind the top of the list very much. It's hard to rank things people are passionate about. But there are some odd choices further down the list. Some feel like they were more like specials vs shows. Just kind of a weird list.

There is no reason MLB can’t reseed after the Wild Card round. It’s dumb that the American League’s best teams will be playing in the ALDS. Seems like an easy fix.

Hawks are taking on about $2.4M by acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith for Buddy Hield and Ryan Nembhard. Atlanta will be about $1.4M under the luxury tax with 15 players on standard contracts. Hornets will have 18 players on standard deals, necessitating three waivers.

I worry about his shooting and overall offensive role, but Ausar Thompson is so good defensively that $31M AAV is probably fair. I think he'll return good value on that contract, especially so if there's any kind of offensive improvement.
