I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

My riding is the UCP one. Our NDP candidate got a third of the votes of the UCP, that DOES NOT happen here. Usually it's more like 10:1. Fingers crossed that more folks realize how awful Smith and her cronies are before our next AB wide election.

This punishes and stigmatizes normal behaviours. It also pushes the idea that kids need to be driven everywhere, even when it's close. That is an obviously classist view. Ppl in poverty are less likely to either a) have the time to drive theirs bc they're working or b) afford a vehicle/fuel.

There's no declaration of war, and no AUMF that covers this. Entering this war is wrong on the merits; we had a perfectly peaceful way to address Iran's nuclear program. It's also unlawful. A democratic republic should not be able to enter a war of choice on one man's say-so.
