For the first time since the battle, Trip began to smile. "Who said you can't make something out of nothing? Hahahahaha!!" "WE HAVE WARP!!!" cried out the engineers. Klara grabbed María and kissed her on the lips as the room returned to life. Johann began to cry with joy as he leaned on a conduit.

Then it began to light up as matter and antimatter started to collide. Within seconds, it began to make the rhythmic hum that had filled this room for nearly three years. María looked at the display in complete disbelief. "I think...we have warp power. We have warp power!!"

María placed one hand on her crucifix, then exhaled. Everyone held their breath. Then she pulled down the switches with all her strength. The reactor began to make a grinding sound, as the main turbines started to spin. This continued for a few seconds, with no change.

In engineering, the crew took their posts. María stood on the main control platform. Klara Hess stood next to her. "Ready to commence main engine startup," said the lieutenant. María placed her hands on the control switches. She looked at Trip. "Do it."

"We do have some advantage now. The Xindi aren't expecting us." He paused. "Alright, crew. Are you ready?" "Aye aye, Captain!" "Engineers, to your posts. Bring the warp reactor online." The engineers filtered out. Archer and the bridge crew went to their stations.

"The plan now is simple. We get away from this system as fast as we can. We meet with Degra, and hope he can get the Xindi to stop this war. If we do this, if we can make diplomacy work...you'll all get a shot of the Andorian ale Shran gave me." There was some laughter.

White began to take the lead down the corridor. "I haven't been aboard since they pressurized the hull." "Jeffries has certainly done his work," said Admiral Leonard. "Let's see how the rest of the ship is first." Admiral White began to inspect the crew as they stood at attention.

Archer smiled softly. "Thank you, Madam Prime Minister." He nodded to Soval. "Ambassador." "I'm sure you have much you still need to accomplish before launch this evening," said Soval. "I said we'd be ready in three days, and we are ready. May I present my crew."

"Permission to come aboard, Captain," said White. "Granted, Admiral." "Allow me to present the Prime Minister, Hanna Rocard." Hanna stepped forward and shook Archer's hand. "An absolute pleasure, Captain. I've wanted to meet you for a long time now."

Captain Archer adjusted his tie as the airlock cycled. Crewman Celeste Bennett took out her bosun's whistle and blew on it. Everyone stood at attention. "Open the airlock," said Archer. The door opened and the distinguished guests came through.

By the time they got to the airlock, everyone was in their place. 20 members of the crew, mostly junior officers and a few enlisted, stood in place. The airlock was decorated with the flags of United Earth and Starfleet. "Look sharp!" shouted Chief Matthews. "This isn't recess!"

Entering the head, Klara Hess was wearing her dress uniform and service hat with immaculate precision. "They're docking. They'll be here in ten minutes. The Old Man wants us at the airlock." Her Neubayern accent was more tense than usual. María finished tying Josh's tie and they left.

On board, it was chaos. Everyone was scrambling to finish putting on their dress uniforms. In the head, María Socorro carefully put on her necktie. Josh Masaro still could not put it on. Once she finished, she turned to help. "I thought men know how to tie a tie." "Actually, no, no one does."

"I hate inspections," said Admiral White as they flew over the saucer section on their way to a docking port. "I'm just delighted to be aboard before launch," replied the Prime Minister. "Three days. Didn't think Archer could it," added Forrest.

Shuttlepod SC-1 was at capacity. Joining White were Vice Admiral Maxwell Forrest - the Chief of Exploration Operations, Rear Admiral Daniel Leonard - White's Chief of Staff, Soval - Vulcan Ambassador to Earth, and Hanna Rocard - Prime Minister of United Earth.
