This! I try to never speak about "decoupled systems" but rather about the quality of their coupling. You can couple systems in ways that make their evolution easier, or in ways that make it harder and problematic. Don't ignore the coupling, but understand it with its advantages and its limitations.

Yeah, "Luftwaffe" continues to be the name of the German Air Force to this day.

I always wonder if everyone in Russia looks like this, this stuff is expensive! I guess however, that the influencers making videos of themselves talking dramatically at the camera are likely at the same time the most assiduous users of these "beauty" treatments.

1/ The destruction by Ukrainian drones of two of Wildberries' massive warehouses near Moscow is a huge disaster for the Russian economy, which will inflict far more damage than the headline $1.2 billion loss of stock. Here's why. ⬇️

Don't get me wrong, it's definitely not with you with whom I have an issue, moreover, I'm sure we are on the same side. I still believe we should call things by their right names and answering to your post just felt appropriate.

No, she's not hallucinating at all. She's a propagandist, that is, a cunning manipulator who's shamelessly lying in order to push a particular story. Saying she's hallucinating would allow for the possibility of she being well meaning but deluded. This is for sure not the case!

Russia's latest batch of fake news posts targets parties in Germany from the far-left to centre-right, but stopping short of the far right, for obvious reasons. Note the very similar numbers of replies, views, and reposts, signs of bot networks boosting the post, but little to none real engagement.

This is an attempt to shift the costs for air defense from the national budget to the regional ones. They'll do their best to deplete the country of its wealth before they give up, and, in so doing, they'll turn everything into a wasteland without Ukraine having to drop a single bomb.

On the one hand, in 30+ years programming computers, I never needed the calculus or the differential equations. On the other hand, optimization was a rather common need and the theory of algorithms helped a lot. That's a form of math I still find very relevant.

Even in such an (I'd say) unusual case, my point applies: the "planning" phase of such a project will be like building any other software, that is, very hard to estimate. So software (at least as usually built) is comparable to design, not to construction.
000
Martín Soto @msoto.bsky.social · 19/05/2026
Another way of looking at this: writing software is more comparable to designing the bridge than to building it. When you build the bridge, you already have a detailed design, which you follow exactly. This phase simply doesn't exist for software.

I'm not trying to weaken your position. In fact, I feel very uneasy about this kind of thing and would only say to everyone : "hear, hear!". I doubt, however, that most of those celebrating Trump's infirmity would do it with other people. This situation is quite special and we shouldn't ignore it.

I would say a "like" in this case means you agree with "Russians tying mice to a war drone is, like many of their actions, abhorrent and despicable"; not with "I love what I'm seeing in the picture". To like the second message, you'd need to separate the picture and post it with a different text.
