A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

I subsist on Social Security Disability/Medicare/Medicaid/SNAP. Medicaid pays the majority of my medications. Due to my disabilities & chronic illnesses I rely on 38 different medications annually. 1 of my medications for Lupus has slowed the progression of the disease. Without access I would die.😔

No one is immune from disability. It can happen to anyone at anytime, regardless of how 'young and healthy' you are. Stop believing you will be the exception, and start engaging in disability justice. It's far easier to fight for better support and treatment while you still have your health.
