I got pretty good at the art of writing critical theory with a combination of MS Word and Apple laptops. Then working within Web 2.0 platforms on the circulation of that work. A now outdated media-technical regime but I'm sticking to it.

The fluid dynamics are the interesting part for me. As long as "lol 6 fingers" was an easy spillway for negative sentiment, we didn't see this sort of dam break. Dozens of would-be Coxons tried to trigger similar freakouts and failed. But anti-AI ppl are now amplifying stories seeded by the labs.

If the AI / Human intelligence distinction seems blurry it’s because the language is identical but emerges from ultimately incomparable systems. Our presence resolves the gap and makes it seem otherwise — language is always unifying the system instead of creating space to recognize the division.

Sociology regularly reveals this paradox: that people will vote for rightwing disruptors not because they share their politics but because they are fed up with the system. It's almost as if the system generates its own opposition in a guise that ensures no actual disruption.
