Glorious night at BFI - The Wrong Box is so funny, so Wildean, so 60s - and it was magnificent to hear it introduced by Nanette Newman, who, unbelievably, is 92. The Forbes centenary season has been a triumph for its curator Jo Botting.

ROME EXPRESS (Walter Forde, 1932). All aboard! This delightful, tightly plotted train film feels like a stylistic dry run for THE LADY VANISHES (1938) as a variety of colourful characters travel from Paris to Rome on the titular Express. A stolen painting drives the plot here, >> (1/2) #FilmSky

Superb introduction to Rome Express at BFI last night thanks to season Curator Kazuo Ishiguro and the great Jonathan Coe. Never seen the film, blown away by its thoroughly realised ambition (better use of models than even Hitchcock) and superb direction frome ex-silent clown Walter Forde. A joy.

William Powell and Kay Francis wolf down lunch in a publicity photo on the set of ONE WAY PASSAGE, 1932. One of the best films either one of them ever made, and Kay's personal favorite. Posted in honor of dinner tonight with my BFF!
Powell is wearing a perfect light-colored suit and a panama hat; Kay is in her organdy dress from the movie. They are standing up in front of a car and posing as they prepare to bite into nice-looking hamburgers.
