If it's the "Malfoid" trend, there's a few main issues. The first is that the creator of Harry Potter, JK Rowling, is virulently transphobic, spending pretty much all of the profits she makes from sales of the books/merch/etc. towards criminalizing the existence of transgender individuals.

Seeing as I'm unable to reply normally, here are my two cents: GOG and a self-hosted storefront will remain my by far most preferred method of legally acquiring games and actually owning them. With Steam you end up having it tied to your account. There are exceptions but few and far between.
