Really, really impressed with this #opensource, cross platform sketchup-like 3D #CAD package: github.com/ingelibre/in... Some minor bugs aside, it's perfect for my occasional hobby and DIY usage, which was never serious enough to make me happy paying £99 a month to Trimble 😩

Surely restaurants you call for a reservation are now in the minority? Also, instructing somebody/something else to book is as much work as booking, isn't it? Firmly solution needing a problem nonsense.

Google ostensibly played cat and mouse with SEOers but also they seemed flattered by the attention and gave away too much information. I was dragged onto a few Google-led SEO sessions that were frankly depressing: "Can't we just make nice things and you figure it out?"

We're lucky in Brighton that our subsurface water conditions are merely "low dryness". But bloody hell the rest of the UK... From the UK hydrological outlook for August: hydoutuk.net/sites/defaul...
A relative wetness map of the UK. It's nearly entirely "very dry" except for a few seams of lower dryness mainly in the south which I think are chalky areas.

Well this Sam Neill quote blindsided me for some reason
I'm not afraid to die" he told the Guardian in 2023, "but it would annoy me. Because I'd really like another decade or two, you know? We've built all these lovely terraces, we've got these olive trees and cypresses, and I want to be around to see it all mature. And I've got my lovely little grandchildren. I want to see them get big. But as for the dying? I couldn't care less."

A diagram showing bits of the brain involved in tasting e.g. a burger, where the burger is coloured the same way as the brain is labeled.
