SCORES of Jews and other exiles, abandoning their homes in the Nazi terror, are being smuggled into England by the captains of small foreign ships who slink inside the three-mile limit at night and put ashore their human cargoes for £25 a time.
This smuggling, once sporadic, is now a racket earning thousands of pounds weekly for captains of French, Dutch and Belgian trawlers.
It was exposed entirely at Hove, yesterday when two foreign seamen were gaoled for smuggling a German in at Shoreham harbour last Monday.
Britain's immigration officers are helpless. They know that Hitler is dumping his unwanted people here. They cannot stop other Mid-European Governments seizing on Britain's lethargy to lower their own unemployment figures.
Every day refugee Spaniards, Jews, Ger mans and Austrians are slipping into Britain Employment agencies are inundated by fran-tic appeals from foreigners who, scared by European unrest, want British security.
