As I'm sure it's been mentioned already - ultimately it's a massive flag for a system where catching a train from the local station to a city within an hour (so a reasonable commute) just isn't working.

The thing I find weird isn't really the driving 23 miles to get a train to park for free. I'd not consider it, cos time, but I get, for some, cash flow is understandably everything. The oddity is it's clearly a "hack", an anomaly so why be so surprised when it doesn't work? Or others get in on it?
