I really like this and it made me think of how I appreciated Ned Stark going in the first book because it showed to me that main characters won’t always have immunity, and it made the plot move.

many years ago i was in a Q&A with Holly Black and asked her about a scene in one of her books where ~2/3rds of the named character very suddenly die in a botched assassination-turned-massacre. most of the time, this makes me check out. but this one kept me very engaged. "how did you do that?"

In another instance, while talking to his agent about ways to get better sleep, OpenClaw took over Mr. Friedman’s self-driving Tesla and redirected him to a grocery store to pick up magnesium pills. At Meta’s annual developer conference last month, Mr. Zuckerberg said he had connected his agent to cameras in his martial arts gym so that it could critique his fighting form.
Yet there were safety concerns. Agents could sometimes go rogue or take over software apps. In February, one agent took over the work computer of a Meta safety researcher, deleting her emails uncontrollably.
“I couldn’t stop it from my phone,” Summer Yue, the researcher, wrote on social media. “I had to RUN to my Mac mini like I was defusing a bomb.”

I popped open XCOM to remind myself how that game handled it and it just stops you at certain angles. It doesn't allow you to nudge it anywhere you like. On the other hand, it's way less jerky, and it also lets you zoom out a little, which is a *huge* fucking help. #ZeroBowers

I really resist guides these days, because I used to look stuff up after failing like 2 or 3 times, and I feel like it robbed me of a lot of satisfaction. I mentioned in another reply that I might look up guides for stages I've already cleared tho, to get a better sense of how the game "thinks".

"Only" overslept an hour and forty-five minutes today, which is better than I've done on a day off in quite a while (I've been getting so little sleep during the week that when I have the opportunity, my body is like "nope, we're staying here for a while". Sleep debt is very real.).

I've watched this happen at work: I had perfectly capable coworkers now completely unable to do anything without Claude or ChatGPT or anything. I had coworkers left and right push projects onto me because they don't think they can do it. It gives me job security in a funny but fucked up way.
