There's also this unique German electric trike for $3,000. Very affordable for an electric bakfiets! Downside is that it's pretty far from Minneapolis (Mahtomedi).

Hell yeah, cargo bikes are the best! I recently went on a cargo bike date night with my partner in the box. Lots of fun! Lots of smiles!

Second, you don't have to deal with the parking lot at all! Take the back road (Cedar Lake Rd has a sidewalk level bike path and Zenith is just a painted lane but it's super low traffic so it's fine) and avoid the parking lot completely. It's much nicer.

Hey Minneapolis and St Paul friends. I've been checking marketplace but maybe I'll have better luck here. I'm looking to buy a classic Dutch bike, or as close to one as possible. Ideally something like this Gazelle step-through. 5-8 internal gears, fenders, drum or disc brakes, & a Dynamo hub.

Turns out traffic evaporation is a real thing! As of 2023, the most recent publicly available data, daily motor vehicle traffic is just under 20k on the north side and 16k on the south side of the project corridor. The 30k number is on the north side in 2019.

I transported one of these a few days ago and didn't have to tie it down but then again it's not very big and fit in the box easily. It might be extra challenging to haul something that can't at least partially fit in the box because it has high walls and then the weight would be too high.

I love how many people get to the Music in the Parks events at the Harriet Bandshell by bike! I wish it was just as normal and "acceptable" (maybe even encouraged?) to get to all other Minneapolis events and destinations by bike, especially when the weather is nice.

I've been reading a bunch of reviews and watching videos about the bike and it seems like the weight and maneuverability is the biggest issue. On the other hand, $5k for a bike with these specs feels like a steal to me.
