My other big memory of that show was that the opener was a local sludge metal band and their bassist was a heavy set young Hispanic guy wearing a biohazard trash bag as a skirt. It was a memorable show

It was a great show, it was interesting though because the backing music and video were played from a DVD and the only "live" elements were Ronan's vocals and another band member playing electronic drums. I see that "Chris Roberts" is the current percussionist but I'm not sure he was there in 2001?

Yeah I did have text based dialup internet by 1994, I remember having an exchange student from Japan that summer and we downloaded software for him to write and email his family in Japanese. And by 1996 I was working at a local ISP in Grapevine, TX. Wild times! Miss that era

The best I can say about it is that it was miles better then the Night Court reboot. "Night Court" literally felt like "what if this show never went off the air and it was on season 37"

I don't imagine you watched it, but it reminds me of Season 2 of the Frasier reboot which aired entirely in Fall 2024 but half of the episodes are holiday themed, running from Valentines to Christmas. Sort of a "this is it let's have some fun" exercise

I've been trying to figure out what's going on this season, and all I can figure is they got the memo they were doing seasons 4+5 and that was it and all the writers / producers pulled out their lists of "episodes I want to do" and they did that instead of something coherent
