Finally giving Dark Souls 3 another go, at a friend's encouragement. It's still my least favorite of the FromSaga games I've played, by far. I'm getting through it quicker (forewarned is forearmed), but it still feels off. The whole world is mud-grey, and it's somehow both too slow and too fast.

this one is especially egregious

A single panel comic hand drawn illustration of Barret Wallace from FF7 gesturing disgustedly to a screenshot from nvidia's atrocious DLSS 5 slop that leaked, showing a photo of what was once Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is now a yassified Al model standing in a flatly lit Instagram environment. Barret's text box reads "We're killin' the planet for THIS shit?"

It’s time for another mashup event! Even though it is a fantasy world, real life aspects are still part of it and more disabled representation would go a long way in the community! We hope y’all join us in Vanilla Creatives for this awesome event! Discord link will be posted below!

Been thinking about replaying Dark Souls 2 again. Maybe this time I'll beat the DLCs and finally see NG+. Maybe.

In other news, I've decided to start moving my mods over to Heliosphere. I've found that site friendlier to use in many ways, and I'm pleased to say that extends to the creator side as well. I'll add the link to my bsky bio once mods over there start exiting Drafts status.

They did it. Opted in by default, so decent odds your existing content has already been added to the training pool. Settings > Security and Privacy > scroll dowwwwwn > Training for Generative AI

A screenshot of the Settings menu on Twitch, in the Security and Privacy tab.

Training for Generative AI is the second-to-last item, toggled OFF.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

Steam cover image for Blue Prince.

Title of the game overlays a wall with blue wallpaper. There is an umbrella stand next to a doorway, through which we can see multiple rooms with doorways aligned. At the far end, a silhouette of a person stands in the final doorway, which is filled with light.

As a game, this house is a very cool concept. Trying to imagine how to make it work in any quasi-realistic context is an absolute nightmare. I keep thinking about it anyway. Going live with Blue Prince at twitch.tv/mousetc

"Hmm, almost stream time. Better settle in with some tea and a snack. Oh right, I was in the middle of working on a character sheet..." I'd just start streams earlier to take advantage of this energy surge, but this is a fairly loud time of day here lol.

Mouse @mousetc.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Okay, I see what's up with the hype for Blue Prince. I am annoyed that it's too late to do another run or two. It might not get to be a "play til finished" stream game because of its random/rogueli*e nature but I'll probably stream it at least a few more times before deciding whether to swap games.

Apparently right around 10 pm is Activity o'Clock for my brain. Because why am I itching to pull a tedious/time-consuming project back out when I'm supposed to be prepping for stream?

110

Mouse @mousetc.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

I will probably beat Lunacid early next stream. Likely after that: A. Lunacid: Guided hunt for secrets & alternate endings B. Ocarina of Time C. Blue Prince (first time) D. Esoteric Ebb (first time) Personally leaning away from A, but it's on the table if there's interest. Responses very welcome!

Actual conversation with a friend about this game: - Lunacid? Is that where you go do acid on the moon? - Kind of. The moon melted? - The moon did acid before you got there. Going live with Lunacid at www.twitch.tv/mousetc

Lunacid menu screen. Blackbirds peck at a large dead fish on a cobblestone road next to a wall with an old-fashioned lantern illuminating a pile of VHS tapes next to them. A vaguely gothic village can be seen in the distance behind them. A waxing gibbous moon looms overhead.
