Is this remotely legal? A 7kw EV charger installed on the outside of a garage so the car owner can charge in the street by running a cable across a pavement. That's a LOT of power. I thought EV charger installations required off road parking....

As I remember it, Liverpool declared a climate emergency and then did absolutely nothing about it. Nothing. They might have built a few 'green walls', but they died (obviously).

Whilst it's sad I'm not surprised by this. There is case upon case where drivers who kill barely even get a short ban (before we even get to the merits and demerits of prison). Plus, the roads have been barely policed since austerity and it shows. www.theguardian.com/law/2026/aug...

Riding bikes is 10X more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities. And that’s just the climate emissions. Doesn’t include the massive public & personal cost difference, the air & noise pollution difference, the massive space difference, etc, etc…Via @theconversation.bsky.social

Active travel can help tackle the climate crisis earlier than electric vehicles – even if you swap the car for a bike for just one trip a day.

This is really disappointing. Deep down I'm not surprised. There are two things I can't understand: 1) Why the scheme creates more "missing links", despite the LTP saying it explicitly wants to end them. 2) Why LCC insist on routing bike infra through parks. liverpool.gov.uk/council/cons...

Ok. Then repaint car parks so the spaces are 50% bigger. Obviously prices would need to go up and there would be fewer car parking bays as the space is finite.
