Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 20/08/2026hey remember when the xbox & xbox 360 came out and you could get a media controller for them to play dvds and they worked so well that people didnt need to buy a separate dvd player. unrelatedly, i own all the major consoles with disk slots: where can I buy a blu-ray player? 040
Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 20/08/2026What do you meeeeeeean an XBOX Series X pauses a DVD if the controller turns off?? The controller turned off because I'm busy watching something! On the XBOX! 120

Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 30/07/2026the state of using a PS5: You buy a game. You put the game in the console. It has to copy to the console. You watch it copy to the console. At about the half-way mark, the console shuts down because it hasn't been used in several minutes. The game is not installed. 130

Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 09/07/2026If I have anything good to say about the completely re-done combat, it is this: the original games' combat wasn't good either. 000
Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Resynched has removed a lot of the puzzle aspects of the parkour. Making climbing more smooth has made it easier, but making it easier has made it unengaging. Climbing towers is no longer a maze to find the right path; now you just point up, and the character will find something to grab. 100
Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 09/07/2026I'm told the parkour is a vast improvement over the more recent titles, which is nice to hear, but the great thing about the original Black Flag was that it was the sixth mainline title in the series, and its' parkour reflected that highly successful history. 100
Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Skulking along rooftops feels so much nicer now that the roof tiles are so crisp and tactile. I get distracted looking at moss. But, the simplified parkour (vs. the original, and the Ezio trilogy) has me constantly diving into hay bales instead of climbing onto the thing I'm staring at. 100
Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 09/07/2026I have now played several hours of the new Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynched. The good: - It's gorgeous. - I love pirates. - Captaining a ship is as good as it's always been. The bad: - It contains the worst of both the original games' vestigial jank, and the new game series' vestigial jank. 110
Cora! :D @mostlycoragrace.bsky.social · 08/07/2026It's a cool world, and it *feels* right, but there are no enemies, so you just kinda have to imagine what the combat is like. 020
