Don't you think chiptune does sound kinda same? I can recall some experimental or unique pieces of classic and modern, but mostly it's just triangle scratching with a varying density of drums.

I also want to admit that Super Mario Land 2 is one of my favorite games ever. The big landscape it offers tends to overwhelm me a lot, but I can't help but feel so much joy from just hearing that overworld level music..

Playing without save states and rewinds gave me a sense of accomplishment, and the game didn't punish me much either, giving away lives and checkpoints in generous amounts. Deaths were legitimately funny too, I couldn't just get mad at that physically. Also WHO ARE YOU ????

I think I'm in love with the first Super Mario Land, despite it being, well, Super Mario Land. I had somewhat of a delightful experience playing it, and albeit movement and physics aren't that good and didn't hold up to standard then, let alone now, I had fun.

Graphics-wise it's very clear that Nintendo started to compete with whatever is wrong with current modern gaming and tries to appeal to a modern gamer, but to me if there is any Nintendo game that deserves to go beyond the usual scope of Nintendo audience, I think that would be Ocarina of Time.

Overall game direction seems to prioritize making the original game less clunky and more akin to best feeling zeldas ever gameplay-wise, which are the Wild Dilogy ones.
