I recently opened a new facebook account. i didn’t add any content but my feed was immediately populated with a deluge of far right propaganda and posts. I can only assume Meta is actively engaged in promoting this stuff. Shocking.

What’s your legacy Johnson? Brexit. Total collapse of trust in politics. And this. The small boats symbolise your dishonesty and your failure. You’re responsible for nothing but damage. Not one good thing. Not one proud moment. You’re forever a shameful disgrace who threw his own mandate in the bin.

I was interviewed by R5Live on Ratcliffe last night. Pointed out that he is simply wrong about benefits, crime and immigration levels, and that banging on about Empire and Two World Wars only reveals an old man who left the UK years ago and has little understanding of a country he seems to despise.

I think the most interesting revelation of the Channel 4 film was that they are now entirely dependent on Foreign Donations, because no-one in the UK will donate to them (!) So foreign donations are now entirely routine to them, and the only difference with these two is their size.

Fact is we can never compete with a tax haven and anyone minded to move to one - will do that anyway. We need a citizen tax, ensuring all UK citizens pay tax here wherever they live - the US does it like that.

A suggested statement for Andy Burnham.
‘The British public decided in the 1930s that they would not tolerate black-shirted militias marching through their streets. They would cherish robust political argument; they would not accept thuggery and intimidation. When Oswald Mosley led his Blackshirts to Cable Street, local people turned them back. A new law – introduced by a Liberal, backed by Labour and carried by a Conservative majority – banned private militias, political uniforms and ‘the use or display of physical force in promoting any political object’. The British people are as determined today as in the 1930s that they will not accept the methods of Mussolini and the Munich Beer Hall. This government will uphold the law and defend the traditions of British democracy’.
