Absolutely LOVE the floral initials in this copy of the works of Apuleius, one of the first books printed at Rome (by Sweynheym & Pannartz) in 1469. The initials apparently added in France, perhaps in the 1480s or 90s. @theulspeccoll.bsky.social Inc.2.B.2.1[1124].

Yeah, I do most of the shopping and end up doing it in the evening sometimes after dinner, which isn't great. We have a small extra freezer in the garage, and I tend to keep a well-stocked pantry so it works out ok

My mom is a landmark person. When I went to downtown San Diego, she told me to find the ocean and go left until I recognized something to get home. But if I hit the border, turn around and try again 😐 It worked though. I didn't end up in Mexico

For my library, if it says a particular degree (an MLIS for example) or area of study is preferred, then you get points for having it. If it says it is required, then the application won't be considered without it.

Very good advice. I'd add that you should use the job ad to structure your letter & cv. Lots of workplaces (like mine) use the listed qualifications section of the requisition to make a rubric for evaluating applications.

When I taught at an all-boys prep school, we'd do an activity where I had them list every sexual term they could think of. They'd often laugh, as many were absurd things meant for Urban Dictionary. We'd then go through how many terms were violent (~85%) and how many were male-dominant (~90%).
