Death: THERE ARE BETTER THINGS IN THE WORLD THAN ALCOHOL, ALBERT. Albert: Oh, yes, sir. But alcohol sort of compensates for not getting them.

Halloween costumes for birders. This is from last year and someone actually did the sexy owl pellet one.
A comic called halloween costume ideas for birders. In panel 1, labeled easy, there's a person labeled northern cardinal wearing a party hat, a beak, and red clothes, and a person labeled roseate spoonbill wearing pink clothes and a wooden spoon on their nose. In panel 2, labeled harder, there's a person labeled merlin sound ID wearing a big green circle with a microphone modeled after the button on the merlin sound ID app, and a person labeled hybrid green x blue jay wearing a complex costume with a mask and robe and hat modeled after a recently discovered hybrid bird. In panel 3, labeled challenging, there's a person labeled baltimore oriole nest wearing an enormous accurate woven oriole nest suspended from their arms and shoulders, and a person labeled african jacana carrying chicks with a hideous costume of long-toed bird feet hanging from their armpits. In panel 4, labeled hot, there's a person labeled high quality spotting scope who is shirtless and is wearing a spotting scope mask on their head, and a person labeled sexy owl pellet wearing an owl pellet top and bottom with a mouse skull on their head.

I am angry tonight. Because tonight ICE shot a New Yorker. They shot a New Yorker while his five year old child was in the car. ICE makes this city less safe. We want them out. Now.

1/Alright California, we're back with your weekly public health update. Let’s start with the flu. Flu activity is relatively low, but it’s rising. California's wastewater levels are about where they were last December, meaning we’re seeing a seasonal flu activity almost two months earlier this year

Did you know you only need a small brain to make silly little drawings?
4 panel comic:
Panel 1: pink blob guy on a table, pencil in their hands. Grey circle on a piece of paper and a glass of water on the table. They say “look here”
Panel 2: Proudly, they hold up the drawing of a grey blobby character on two stick legs up in the air. The pink blob says “I drew this!”
Panel 3: Satisfied they sit back down on the table. They now go “it’s not much, but..” The grey drawing looks a bit peeved because the drawer is calling it “not much”
Panel 4: But it’s okay, because now the pink blob is very pleased finally. He says “it came from my brain!” Holding the pencil up. The grey drawing blob is happy again, too. End well, all well!

A day in the life (Of a small green frog)
4 panel comic.
Panel 1: We see a frog shaped computer desktop, along with a mouse on a lily pad mousepad. Forg is seen in the foreground. Guess he is working on his forg computer.
Panel 2: It seems work is over because forg is now in his trademark forg car. They both seem to be happy cruising down a city street
Panel 3: He arrived at his frog shaped home. It’s smiling at him as he waddles towards the front door.
Panel 4: Finally he rests in his frog shaped bed. He exclaims ‘what a frogging day!’

This kitchen manager watches me like a hawk.
A kitchen stove and counter with various food items. Pale orange cat on top of a 4 foot high tower air conditioner, looking at the photographer. Cat is probably wondering why there is no tuna recipe this week.

I drew a comic strip.
a comic strip. The first panel shows a goblin in a long coat approaching a guard. The second panel has the goblin saying "we're just normal men!". The third panel has the guard replying "what do you mean normal men?". The fourth panel shows both the goblin in the coat and the guard. The coat is beginning to open to show many goblins within. The guard looks suspicious and a goblin emerging from the coat is saying "We're just innocent men!"

The image is of a four panel comic.
In the first panel we see a dragon sitting on a pile of treasure. A speech bubble pointing off panel reads, “Dragon, why do you have all this treasure?”
In the second panel we zoom in on the dragons face. He simply says “shiny”.
In the third panel we pan to the left and see that there is a crow standing next to the dragon on the treasure.
In the fourth panel we zoom in on the crows face. He says “hell yeah”.

2 more people have died of measles. A vaccine-preventable disease. A 19th-century disease that our country once eliminated. The kids are getting the brunt of it, and this is a tragic reminder that we are going in the wrong direction for health in this country.

What some call "unused land" is often the last safe haven for countless living creatures. Wetlands are not empty spaces waiting to be developed. They are nurseries for birds, natural water filters, flood defenses, and wildlife habitats that cannot be replaced once lost.

Holy hell Katie Wilson is on fire here.
Most of all, we must tell our own story.

It's time to discard the notion that Seattle is "dying." The forces pushing that narrative never wanted Seattle to succeed. This isn't a call to ignore challenges, but to tackle them with a sense of possibility, because we've seen what our city feels like when we pull together.

Cities are humanity's greatest invention.

Where opportunity, creativity, culture and democracy come together. Cities are where people who are different from one another learn how to live together. Cities are where innovation happens because people encounter new ideas, new neighbors and new possibilities. That's always been Seattle's story, and we have an opportunity, a responsibility, to write the next chapter.
