I know we are entering new worlds of psychological damage, but I don't think anyone was ready for the mental toll of "you can literally never be excited or afford anything ever again"

Is it safe for me to say on here that I do not believe the polls about the Midterms? I don't trust white voters to be honest about their voting intentions with pollsters.

Before Hitler, the US had about 6 nobel prizes, Germany like 33. Now the US has 420, Germany 115. Germany still has not recovered from that brain drain 92 years ago.

I want to direct a horror movie real bad. I have a script in mind and some actors, just need a camera, a weekend, and a few thousand dollars.

I think the classic MK games are some of the most interesting from their era. The Dial-A-Kombo from MK3/UMK3 I think is one of the coolest things a 2D fighting game has ever done.

A lot of it comes with nostalgia because of my dad, but I don't think any fighting game is quite like Mortal Kombat. I'm invested in the story and characters, but I've always loved how the series has tried to navigate itself in the genre. Giving the 2.5D games 3D styled buttons is so interesting

- the way they mix 2d and 3d fighter tropes - brutalities are the best finishers in gaming - smart reuse of assets - slick movement tech - plenty of different play styles in any given roster - stage transitions like punching someone through the ceiling - some of the most interesting normals

010

Moist Towelette @mohastgridlock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

- the dial-a-combo system allows for very reliable combos as long as one understands how to work within that system - infinite juggle hitstun and gravity scaling results in interesting combos - simple combo structure (generally) - comboing off of moves you're not usually supposed to (uppercut)

121

Moist Towelette @mohastgridlock.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Some examples: - getting a "free" normal hit in a juggle combo before going into a kombo string - quickly jabbing after a jump to be sent back to the ground quicker - long hit stun special moves that offer a "free" hit - kombo strings offering multiple points to cancel into special moves

Why do you like Mortal Kombat? For me, it's a bunch of small things put together to make something unique and fun. #fgc #mortalkombat

Foxy saying that anime and tag team mechanics have made fighting games soft is actually my opposite problem. Games like MK and Invincible make chuds feel comfortable being total dickheads that would get their face caved in if they acted that way in person.
