Balsamic, soy and maple glazed tofu with edamame jasmine rice. All I can hear is Jan telling me sternly "that's not a meal" - yes, it is, my love.

Tofu pieces crispy and glazed on a bed of white rice and green edamame, in a blue and white bowl.

Changing the bedding is utter havoc in this house.

Two black and white kittens and a ginger tabby kitten roll around on a semi-made bed. One kitten is attacking the pink and green pillowcases. One is chewing on a zip. One is planning violence.

Done. Two rows of double knitting across the whole hem, then the bind-off. #knitting #knitsky

The second buttonband is growing. It feels endless, and I've the tubular bind-off to do as well, but it'll all be worth it (especially when I remind myselfI cast this cardi on in January 2024). #knitting #knitsky #ShowMeYourKnits

Am I wearing my lovely hand-knitted cardi without having blocked it yet or sewn the buttons on? Why, yes, yes, I am. #knitting #knitsky #ShowMeYourKnits

This fucker has been sitting in a project bag, untouched, for about a year. I cast it on in 2024. I just finished the bottom ribbing. Two buttonbands and it'll be finished. #knitting #knitsky #ShowMeYourKnits

A dark grey, hand-knitted cardigan hangs from a wooden hanger. It's unfinished and has been an absolute ballache of a knit. But it'll be chuffing wonderful when it's finished.

The light grey is a BFL-Masham blend (4ply) while the dark grey is merino-yak.

In other news, the Chapatis have been with me for a month. It's been the absolute best month for a very long time.

They mostly sleep when I'm not here! I often come home to this:

First day of my leave. Back from the vet's with Aloo, just to get him registered and checked over. The vet is quite delighted with him, mucky ears and all. Back to see her on Wednesday, to get him neutered ✂️✂️✂️ and his siblings registered and checked over.

We've been home for about an hour and a quarter. They were FAMISHED. They've explored a lot. They've drunk from the water fountain. They've played. They've used the litter. Time for bed for all of us, I think.

The second sofa has been delivered at last. While I was moving stuff round to clear the way for the delivery, I decided that the rug I originally bought for my bedroom was clearly destined for the living room; and I was right.

Most recent photos from their foster mum, who clearly adores them: she calls them "los gordis" (the sweeties) when she's not referring to them as "los demonios" (the demons).
