LAST MINUTE COSTUME I always liked dressing up for Halloween but my most basic costume was cobbled together to be Bill Pullman’s zombie from “Serpent and the Rainbow” The VHS cover always freaked me out at Blockbuster and the costume amused me but I thought no one would recognize it. I was wrong

The 70s was the heyday of the paranoid thriller - The Conversation, The Parallax View, The Day of the Condor, All The President's Men, etc. This feeling that our institutions and systems hadn't just failed us, but that they were running an entire shadow play alongside us.
