I THINK I figured it out! I set the chains up to be IK chains so I can make em bendy with like one control, and then set up an aim constraint for the chain to a curve around the hem of the dress. It still has like 16 controls, but that's a huge improvement!

I couldn't figure out how to have the traversal get every edge case, without placing a lot of volumes. For example, mantling onto really low ledges. So there is still a trace system back up for those instances.

Worked on making a volume based traversal system. I've always liked using traces to get ledges, but this let's me make different type of traversal volumes and set the rules with a few gameplay tags. Its all spline based.
