People can get so eager to hate "evil" that they're willing tp sanction unimaginable amounts of pain and death in the hope of destroying "the bad guys". Meanwhile, everyone hates The Least Bad Option. Not any specific one, but the abstract idea due to ambiguity and compromise being difficult.

I think I finally get the obsession with anti-heroes in today's public sphere: They're simple solutions to complex problems, and the agency to not think about the consequences or feel guilty or own up to them when they actually make things worse. In other words, the same as populist politicians.

Honestly, as a committed omnivore, I've got mad respect for vegans It's definitely a lifestyle not for the faint of heart, in terms of finding the nutrition to make up for what they cut out. it's likely not easy when they need to reevaluate something to make up for the deficit, like supplements

This morning in Danbury, ICE was arresting parents at school bus stops. But it’s more sinister. ICE waited until the kids were on the bus so when they are dropped off at the end of the day, they are alone, scared to death they can’t find their parents. I’m heading to Danbury.

I recently realized that, in-universe, Lemony Snicket's ASoUEs is actually a nonfiction tell-all full of exonerating evidence that was always sent to its publisher with physical exhibits to verify each major point. It's easy to assume the worst when you don't see the context, I suppose.

When I play a job simulator game I do the job being simulated. When I go to my actual job I mostly do meetings and trying to gently maneuver idiot leadership into not fucking things up for me and my team. Occasionally I get to do my actual job, and that is satisfying, rare though.

My only concern with Mamdani is the number of people who will cite him as the reason why they refuse to vote Democrat in the next presidential election. Regardless of how he stands now, Bernie didn't ask for a fanclub crazy enough to decide Trump was a fitting punishment for "being shafted".
