Parties over people. People are flawed, absolute morality is impossible, to wait for heroes is to wait forever. Only succession and accumulation will create something greater than what came before. No point in wrecking it all to start over.

"Both options suck" is typically the stance of the deliberately uninformed A quick Google search can tell anyone that "Genocide Joe" restarted and added-to a ton of aid to Palestine. But since he didn't get that aid to them by ordering US soldiers to gun down IDF troops, it's an easy thing to deny

On social media, you doom, even if it means essentially obeying in advance. They know they enabled Trump's last victory, but if they admit that now and take some agency or find real solidarity, they'd risk looking bad to complete strangers.

ShadowDurza @misterdoublle.bsky.social · 13/10/2026
Seriously. People are still dooming so hard that distinction between this and "complying in advance" is fading.

Still, chemical castration and physical aversion therapies continued in NHS hospitals into the early 70s.

People still want easy solutions to complex problems when, odds are, there never was going to be a quick or easy way of getting rid of him. ...not in a democracy where 77 million voted for him, and the 90 million that abstained have people who still think that to have been the appropriate response.

I'd also like to ask others to consider that politics is a dirty business where people lie and make promises they have no intention of keeping for the sake of getting things done Maybe some of that is well-intentioned, especially in a nation where 77-freaking-million people voted for Donald Trump

It's DEFINITELY going to be more complicated and dishonest than a lie.

ShadowDurza @misterdoublle.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Because politicians are known for being the very example of honesty and consistency among human beings, and never EVER say one thing at one time, and do another thing later. That's why criminal justice and international diplomacy is regarded almost universally as the mecca for morality and decency.

People threw themselves at morality the same way Donald Trump and his voters threw themselves at evil, but it seems to have amounted to valuing words and optics over actions and results ...which is pretty much the exact same reason people cling to Trump to this very day as their definition of moral

Oh, I get it. You can't use Google. Sorry I assumed WAY too much by how you type and post on Bluesky People called Mamdani a zionist because he didn't stab Netanyahu in the heart when he had the chance. Pretty much attempting to negate absolutely everything else he did, like you with Biden

ShadowDurza @misterdoublle.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Sorry politics and diplomacy is so complicated that you need a moral messiah to worship, but I suppose Trump was appealing to so many for that same reason, so I can't blame you. Yes, he failed sometimes, but didn't stop. The fact he got it declared after so long is a victory for human rights.

Considering Biden restored aid Trump cut during his first term, I'd say that same Palestinian orphan might have jumped off a roof. Because people hate harm reduction so much, they'll snatch the bread from his hands and scream at him that they deserve better before running away with it.

Also... WAY too many people are totally fine with the mass slaughter of civilians because they agree with the point of the one doing it.

If the last 5 years of social media in relation to fictional media has taught me anything, it's that it's never enough to just dislike the writing to these people, you have to to actively hate and hurt others over it however you can.

People can get so eager to hate "evil" that they're willing tp sanction unimaginable amounts of pain and death in the hope of destroying "the bad guys". Meanwhile, everyone hates The Least Bad Option. Not any specific one, but the abstract idea due to ambiguity and compromise being difficult.

Looks like an Anti-AI party did something stupid, and I just saw someone (allegedly) quoting Marx trash talking luddites. My god, people, follow the money. Don't forget objections to limits on AI's use in making p*rn out of photos people take in public and hacking corporations completely unprompted

i have a new theory of Social Media Bad. a lot of ink has been spilled about the addictive qualities of twitterlike social media, including many allegations of developer use of "dark patterns" and self conscious "engagement maximizing", but i'd like to propose something a little more mundane.

Some people hate Republicans so much that they spend all their time and energy ripping Democrats to shreds, especially on election years.

There's fried pork tenderloin sandwiches, which I assume is some kind of evolution of schnitzel from all the German heritage.

Why is this the one lie people agree with the mainstream media on, especially since, on every other issue, they constantly deride it as biased and appeasing to authoritarians?

People on the Left and Right alike want simple solutions for complex problems and someone to blame over the opportunity to learn. "For Republicans to lose, Democrats must win" sounds simple, but I've been saying it as often as I have because putting it to practice is very, very, VERY complicated.

The only way out of this is likely through. If there is a pathology, the economic shock of Covid was likely what tipped the scales. That's a big part of when these malignant ideas first took root in their nations. I like to believe that someday, as a result of this, we'll be a kinder, wiser world.

I remember once, someone with a Canadian flag in their display name wanted to tell me off about who has and hasn't reckoned with their Nazi past, but didn't reply back when I mentioned the AfD.

What else do they have? They can't masquerade as the party of fiscal responsibility and limited government since Trump, much less family values and patriotism. All they've got left is the minority of the rich, and people who've voted for them for generations and probably think FM radio is satanic.

In response to Republican moral bankruptcy, people are prepared to self-sabotage if the alternative isn't morally perfect. In politics. You know, like people who deny that a ground invasion of Japan was on the table for the Allies because, in their world, nothing could be more evil than the bomb.

Having a definitive "bad guy" doesn't really improve jack in the world. We don't have the convenience of such simplicity I've seen people confess to messed-up beliefs because the US let them deflect. One person with a Canadian flag in their display name forgot about the AfD just to tell me off

To this day, people struggle with the basic causal logic of "if the Democrats lose, Republicans win." Ironically, people who preach socialism and the works of a Marx have a big problem with solidarity, and regard anything less than a morally perfect yet mighty-in-presence uberman as a waste of time

Yeah, but have you considered "it's not enough to not be Trump"? If they didn't pull something out that could be exact opposite of Trump's plans that doesn't validate the Republican's claims of "my opponent wants open borders", they were seen as a waste of time.

This feed: "Every complex diplomatic and humanitarian problem always has a simple solution with no collateral damage based on an objective, universal morality humans know from birth. Therefore, avoiding it and attempting to acknowledge deeper nuances and causal consequences is an act pure evil."

Republicans are dumb enough to think that life is fair. What else is new?
000
ShadowDurza @misterdoublle.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
Sounds like the kind of political correctness hard-core Republicans could get behind. "Electoralism is the scurge of modern society, vote for me and you'll never have to vote for anything else, ever again."

Maybe if the public thinks their distinct imagery is actually a brand or marketing campaign, they're more likely to assume they're just people in costumes doing performances rather than actual mutant turtles with ninja training.

People can't handle a world more complicated than "the US is the worst!" and because of that, they let the likes of Brexit and the AfD sneak up behind them. Seriously, I've seen people say they believe some really messed-up stuff because America let them deny and deflect.

ShadowDurza @misterdoublle.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
The natural progression of the old "Republicans have no agency" fallacy. In response to Trump's malice and debauchery, Democrats were expected to be beyond perfect. Biden didn't bring world peace in his four years, therefore, he was seen as a waste of time.

If I had my chance at making a Souls-style game, my intented allegory would be something like: "This world is unforgiving, but also wonderous. If you survive and persevere, believing what you do and experience matters, it shall be made manifest in your power and the relationships you've forged."

B. I'm fine with the mass slaughter of civilians as long as I align with the point of the purpotrator, but would be legitimately upset over them going through the necessary development to want something else out of their life. ...and people wonder how politics is going so wrong, today.

In relation to fanbases, my impression of people's understanding of morality in relation to literature is either, A. Absolute power over human life with total impunity concentrated to the hands of an unelected few is the only acceptable way to fight evil...

We live in a post-nuance society, unfortunately. You can't give these people an inch. You can try to be realistic or objective, but THIS is their definition of objective reality, which was always a thing that's subjective as heck.

Maybe I'd be more forthcoming on this, if he didn't try to frame himself as a populist that has the right answers unlike "both sides" It's easy to make a speech on how the root of our problems is the way we glorify Rugged Individualism, but now people are drooling over THIS rugged individual.

It's this language that lead to too many people deciding "If the Democrats aren't going to do (this and that) then they don't deserve my vote! The country is going to have to take one for the team, again. We'll survive another 4 years of Trump, it's what those damn Liberals deserve."
010
ShadowDurza @misterdoublle.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Once again, I haven't seen such disdain for solidarity since the Republicans themselves. I suppose people need a hero, but bad things happen to societies that put too much faith in a single uberman who claims to have all the answers. No matter how good Mamdani is, he's still playing with fire.

ShadowDurza @misterdoublle.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Democrats do their jobs, but they don't have a dancing mascot that can entertain the voters enough to inform them, and somehow that's their fault? Is Mamdani claiming he's "center" or what? My fellow Americans don't know their Left from their Right anymore than they know their elbows from-

I think I finally get the obsession with anti-heroes in today's public sphere: They're simple solutions to complex problems, and the agency to not think about the consequences or feel guilty or own up to them when they actually make things worse. In other words, the same as populist politicians.
