That's pretty much exactly what I did for my game room! Works really well. Only thing I haven't quite figured out is cable management, not a lot of ways to hide it since the kallax doesn't have a backing

I think you nailed the bit about repairs. They're going to be more needed than ever. I am on my third PS3 and am absolutely reeling about the store closure (and presumably eventually not being able to re-download purchases either). Some repairs (BT/Wi-Fi chip) are beyond average Joe's ability.

Also I refuse to pay full price for a game that doesn't at least come with a box to put on my shelf, so I guess I'm content just being a super late adopter to next generation. PS6 will be the first console I don't buy at launch (if I buy it at all) since I think... the Nintendo DS?

This also ties into a feeling I've been having lately. I'm getting older, and I've been missing the "good old days" of the internet. Online gaming's infancy, message boards, etc. These announcements are just another nail in my own personal proverbial coffin, as my youth all but disappears. Sucks.

Anyone who has already been doing the same with PS3 knows the pain that is to come. I am on my third PS3, and the cycle of getting a new one, installing patches, and navigating the un-navigable "download list" is a miserable experience.

As a fan of PlayStation and a console enthusiast, all of this news is putting me through the stages of grief. I have invested heavily in my physical collection, which I'm assuming won't be transferrable to PS6 in any way. This means I have to keep my PS5 alive as long as possible.
