Annual reminder that ending the school year by asking students to create a project about what is meaningful to them and then share it with classmates is the absolute best way to end the school year. Once again, absolutely inspired walking out of the classroom today. So much hope.

A teacher had a folder full of photos and needed a quick way to turn them into a slideshow video with music for the last day of school. No time to resize and arrange dozens of images in a video editor. She asked if I had a solution, so I vibe coded Reel Fast. 💨 teacherhive.app/info/reel-fast

I’ve had a good Easter break but now the alarm is back on 🫣 I’m doing ok, but if anyone has Sunday scaries then here’s my advice - I know it sounds obvious but does help me. Focus on things you’re looking forward to, things in your control and know it won’t be as bad as you’re imagining 🤞🏽

Sometimes, the messiness of teaching is where the best ideas come from, says educator @mistercavey.bsky.social
"As a teacher, you know that some of your best ideas were born out of impulse. That day you walked into a class completely unprepared? Turns out you had an incredible epiphany that led to one of the best learning activities that you ever came up with. It can happen. That's why we need to save space and give grace for messy teaching." –Educator Tim Cavey

Hey #BCed colleagues, resist the urge to assess the work of the student who submitted 4x what the success criteria required as 'Extending.' A higher quantity of work does NOT equal greater proficiency.
