OTD: 6/20/1975 JAWS opens in theaters. 50 years ago, the summer blockbuster was born. Release forever changed movie landscape & became the highest-grossing film of all time. Brash director named Spielberg & obstinate mechanical shark named Bruce made people afraid to go in the ocean! #filmsky 📽

Steven Spielberg flipping off camera. Boat and mechanical shark (raised completely out of water) in background.

Scene from JAWS, shark approaching boat, head out of water, while Richard Dreyfuss & Robert Shaw lean towards it.

Dead shark, hooked with mouth open,, on dock with Richard Dreyfuss. Roy Scheider approaching.

He’s not even the only cat!!! He is in love with our neighbors cat who we call Olive. She also comes over to eat, but she’s a bit more antisocial.

Olive a brown cat with long fur stands up to look in our door. Bunger is watching her from behind.

Olive and Bunger laying in the neighbors yard. Taking relaxing afternoon.

So I thought the last week would be some unpacking, catching up on movie reviews, doing some writing, etc. INSTEAD, a stray cat has decided that he loves our porch & having all the chin scratches he could ask for. Meet Bunger 😅

A brown and white male cat with chubby cheeks and yellow eyes looks at the camera.

In the new Mission Impossible movie, Tom Cruise beats someone up while saying they spend too much time on the internet. All to say, it was a damn good time at the movies.

Haven’t gotten everything unpacked, but all of the movies are now on the shelves my partner built! The big shelves have all our films in alphabetical order until the end of the 5th shelf which is Criterion films & the bottom shelf which is unwatched movies! And we have all boxsets on the next wall!

A wall of 6 white shelves filled with dvds and Blu-ray’s.

4 white shelves all holding boxsets/movie collections. We have from top to bottom: Godzilla Minus One, Godzilla Criterion Collection, Gamera Films Collections from Arrow, J-Horror Rising set, The Ring films set, Resident Evil Complete Collection, James Bond Collection, Alfred Hitchcock Collection, Universal Monsters Collection, Peanuts Holiday Films, Friday the 13th Collection, and a Christmas film collection.
