I hope another lesson learned from the Cornell case is that college students can’t just “go to the police.” A lot of public and elite private universities have their own police departments with exclusive jurisdiction over their campus. So going to the police still means reporting to your school.

Living with PTSD has been a struggle. Sometimes just existing in a crowded room will ring alarm bells in your head. It’s exhausting and it’s hard to explain and sometimes when you think it’s getting easier to manage it’ll knock you on your butt. This poem is about that feeling. It’s called, “Party.”

As a victim advocate, I see this issue a lot! If you feel behavioral/treatment is abusive, and the other party says it isn’t, that should NOT INVALIDATE how you feel! If you feel it’s abusive and harmful, then it’s abusive and harmful. That’s it.
