Increasingly, I have seen folks who released music through GameChops distance themselves from the label and express a desire to re-distro outside of it. But there's a cost involved in that which many musicians may not be able to cover. So, fuck it, let me put my money where my mouth is.

white text on black background that reads "music re-distribution financial relief fund. since just because a label done borked up that doesn't mean your music should disappear."

white text on black background that reads "what this is: an offer to provide financial aid to help cover the costs involved in re-distribution of tracks outside a label. even if every track is only five bucks to put a track through distro independently, that adds up after an album or so. i'm putting my money where my mouth is and seeding this with $250 to start. if you would like to add to that, my DMs are open - let's chat."

white and other light colored text on black background that reads "what this is not: anything beyond financial aid. I cannot help you clear licensing. I cannot help you secure proper licenses if you need something beyond a basic compulsory mechanical license. I cannot help you re-mix or re-master a track (though I can put you in touch with people who can). I cannot help you get out of any contracts you may have had with a label as far as who owns what."

white text on black background that reads "your music matters. Let's not let label ownership tomfoolery fuck it up. DMs are open."

I think a lot of people overlook this fact on purpose and act like Toby wants you to use his work with absolutely no copyright protections whatsoever, when that is obviously not true. You EXTRA have to be on top of that shit if you're running a label.

Not a fun post to be making but I recently lost my job and need to ask for help financially. The ticket I got earlier this year has disqualified me from my old work, and while my passive income covers some things, rent is still beating my ass. Any and all help is appreciated🙏 paypal.me/KatyScary

I arranged Cerulean City/Fuchsia City for this! Also played guitar for Gym Leader Battle Theme. This album absolutely rules and (like all GameGrooves albums) is made entirely by real musicians that you should support :)

Drew here to once again state unequivocally: GameGrooves fundamentally rejects Generative AI, and I do not care to debate this subject. We do not do it, we will not do it. If we find you use GenAI on any track that is intended to be released under our catalog, we will remove your track. Period.

Bluesky's kinda turning into Twitter where everything has to be a morality thing. People can't just have an opinion about something without having a moral justification for it. "It's probably genAI," "young Link looks a little too young," like genuinely what are we doing man go back to Twitter

New Zelda game doesn't have my favorite visuals in the world but it very clearly has an art style. Reminder that it's okay to just not like it rather than join the "Focus M" comparison hive mind, it absolutely has more character than that.

you can criticize/dislike a game's art direction without claiming that the people who worked on it didn't care

Thinking about portal 2

GLaDOS is literally the funniest character ever. Her arc culminates in her saying "I hate you so much it's not even with the trouble of killing you, so just fucking LEAVE. And on your way out heres a full choir to sing 'Goodbye My Datling', an Aria I wrote in Italian about how I love you and want you to be safe, which mentions you by name. Don't read into it. Get the fuck out. And here, something to remember me by: a box with a heart on it. Leave." to a wonan who has literally never responded to anything she's ever said
