$1,131,794,901 That's how much Big Oil has spent over the last 30 years paying off Congress to look the other way on climate action while the planet burns. Well, the planet is burning. Don't let them look away.

I’m sure it could be an interesting article. But when you open the link you can’t even read 3 lines and there are 5 different adverts all over the screen. I get that they bring in revenue but honestly there has to be at least some gain for the reader. It’s not even possible to read the article.

I muted the word ‘Elon’ and finally I can look at the South African feed again. Every second post was about sending him back to South Africa and honestly I think Mars is a better option.

Mars. Send him to Mars. South Africa has moved on happily without him.

I can’t agree with you more. Honestly I’m exhausted by it. I live in joburg in one of the most integrated and diverse communities. We have come such a long way and have fought a so hard to be better and to overcome such deeply entrenched nationalist systems. Please don’t link us to Elon. Ever!

Some Toyotas are worse than others. The Fortuner is particularly bad. I think it’s best to check with the rental agency. I doubt that any of them would have high risk vehicles as they become exorbitant to insure.

Suzuki is pretty good. Stay away from Toyota (says a Toyota driver in joburg 🤣) and VW Polo.

It’s disheartening that every time I look for South African content or browse local feeds, all I see is talk about Elon Musk and how his behavior is linked to his family’s history during apartheid. There’s so much more to South Africa—our culture, stories, and creativity deserve the spotlight.
