I failed out of university because of domestic violence and rape. It took me 12 years and 70k in loans to finish a 4 year degree from three universities. Being suspended for A SEMESTER? Another thing about fraternities is that the hazing rituals where slightly older young men would physically, mentally emotionally and sometimes even sexually abuse slightly younger young men have always disturbed and upset me greatly. And it’s really telling that I’ve seen men defend those too

it always seemed like an incomplete picture bc to me the fact that we live in a patriarchal “dominator” culture makes it so that of masculinity conditions esp men in a way that leads to sexuality also inherently being wrapped up in asserting power, as evidenced by rape culture and general misogyny
