Scotland is highly geographically diverse. Centralising regional health boards wouldn’t only be costly and time consuming - diverting focus from service delivery - it’d undermine distinct geographical needs within and between regions, particularly for rural and island communities

Surprise, surprise. The IFS has crunched the numbers after Reform announced it wants to cut income tax rates in Scotland. "The biggest direct beneficiaries of such a change would be the high-income taxpayers". IFS also warns the policy could cost £2.4bn a year by 2030.

The Department of Homeland Security was awarded $165bn in additional funding under Trump. Last year, roughly 85% of people in migrant custody were held in places profiting from this hell. Geo Group alone received nearly $1bn from such contracts in 2024 - 42% of its revenue.
