A lot of residents think we should pay much higher taxes, that you’re investing too much in police and that we should make it harder for drivers to get around the city. Vote for Leiper!

Hey @telussupport.bsky.social what’s the deal with your sales folks talking over me then ending the call when i’m trying to tell them i don’t want to receive sales calls? I try to be kind because they’re just doing their job but come on, be extra rude and see what happens.

I don’t feel my opinion on elected officials convicted of impaired driving are properly represented by this council. Raise your hand if you agree. ottawacitizen.com/opinion/so-n...

City of Ottawa really said « we can’t take measures to make roads safer for the most vulnerable users because drivers will throw tantrums and kill more people »

Ce fut un plaisir de rencontrer les membres du comité consultatif sur les services en français pour discuter de leurs priorités. Nous travaillons ensemble pour améliorer les services et les programmes en français pour mieux desservir nos résident(e)s francophones.

The same can be said of many neighbourhoods. In Orléans we complain about the state of our main street then block every attempt to make it walkable, cyclable and more densely populated.

Sharon Nyangweso did a wonderful job with this article about intensification versus preserving character. She originally wrote it in the New Edingburgh, we thought it was great and asked to put it up on our site as it pertains to a lot of the things we preach! strongtownsottawa.ca/2026/01/30/s...

Question for the "growth should pay for growth" pro-development charge crowd. When the City of Ottawa has to pay billions widening roads to support commuters living in Carleton Place and Arnprior, who pays for that? Who should pay for that?

I'm trying really hard to "let" AI in to my world, but this thread sums up how i feel about using generative AI (ChatGPT) to create. It's a great starting point if you're staring at blank page or need to summarize something, but you'll always need a human to polish it and make it enjoyable to read.
