I have sailed past the denial phase of having a cold and am now in the “going to bed early because this sucks” phase. Whether we dance in and out of the “I can’t breathe through my nose” phases regularly is up to my immune system. Having a cold is way better than having a (treated) migraine, tho.

I read a tip that if you add 10 seconds of cold water to the end of your shower, you will engage your sympathetic nervous system and wake up more (presuming you do pre-work showers). Pretty sure my SNS gets too many calls to action just by looking at the news. And that’s only part of my day.

I love fall weather so much. I really wish my brain wasn’t so glued to spring and summer lighting patterns. Or maybe the better wish is that I’d love a Star Trek post-scarcity model to be in place so that I could mostly sleep during the dark hours of the day. That would at least benefit more people.

Took a day off and used part of it to go take a walk in the rain in the woods amid tall trees. Very much needed that! I love rainy days and walks among trees, but my circadian rhythm demands spring/summer sunlight patterns. Else this bog hag becomes a cave bear as well.

Celebrating the minor victory of eating lunch at lunch. Also, stepping away from the work computer so that I could eat lunch at lunch without working through lunch while eating lunch.
