Vol 3 of “They Were Bunkmates” is out now! Grab a copy of this #StarTrekLowerDecks digital fanzine on dub.sh/marinler26 where 26 contributors come together to explore and celebrate #BeckettMariner and #BradBoimler ❤️💜 The zine is free; all donations will be sent to actionkivu.org/ #StarTrek #zine

The cover art for "They Were Bunkmates: A Marinler Fanzine- Volume 3" 2026.

Front cover (left):

ART by Orchi: An illustration with blue, purple and pink palette- the colors of a bisexual flag, loosely inspired by George Barbier’s iconic 1925 Art deco illustration "Le Feu" (Fire) published in Falbalas et Fanfreluches, Almanach des Modes.

Lieutenants Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler are sitting on the wide railing of a balcony. They are both wearing the ceremonial while uniform lined with gold. Mariner is [partially laying on Boimler, resting her left arm in his lap. Boimler is cupping her head in his left hand.

In her right hand, Beckett is holding a salmon pink alien flower, which she is caressing Brad’s face with. He’s holding her hand in his and smiling at her. Beckett is whispering something to him.

Underneath them, on the railing is a see through sheet of sparkly pink Andorian silk. On the right side of the frame, next to where the railing ends, is a block with a giant flower pot on it. The pot has a white Calla Lilly like plant, with pink and blue leaves. The vase is white, with golden handles, rim and bottom. The railing, floor tiles, the block are also white, but lined with gold emblems. It is night time, and the dark blue sky behind them is lit by purple and red fireworks

Middle Spine: A purple art deco frame surrounded by dark blue background of a starry sky, the frame contents "They Were Bunkmates- A Marinler Fanzine" in fancy white lettering. Art by Ray Daly.

Back cover: (right)
ART by Foodcu-be: An Archie-comics style illustration of Mariner kissing Boimler on the cheek. Mariner has her eyes closed and is smiling. Boimler has one visible arm up in the air while he is dizzy and blushing. Floating around them cartoonishly are T’lyn, Rutherford, and Tendi. Rutherford is without his implant. There is a blue header across the top. The title reads “THEY WERE BUNKMATES #3” in red with a white stroke. In the comics corner box is a moopsy.

the lessons we need to take are clear. Dolly said "find out who you are and do it on purpose", and Tim Curry's line is "don't dream it, be it" they would both be disappointed if we wrote that off as corny. so what? it's necessary. we have everything to lose if we are dishonest to ourselves.

This September 9th, enjoy the 3rd volume of They Were Bunkmates, a #StarTrekLowerDecks fanzine! This free, digital zine will showcase TWENTY-FIVE incredible contributors that've come together to explore and celebrate Mariner and Boimler... ❤️💜 #StarTrek #Zine

An illustration of Mariner and Boimler in their dress uniforms. They two are smiling. Mariner is holding a single red rose while Boimler holds a bouquet. There are four art pieces featured from cigaradd, foodcu-be, orchi, and beans1981. There is a fan-fiction snippet from the unreleased fic "Two Little Words" by BirdsofRhiannon. It depicts a tense moment between Mariner and Boimler, where Mariner is asked to "not leave him hanging." The title reads "They Were Bunkmates, Volume Three"

A digital drawing of a world map against a pink background. An arrow stretches from England to the USA, connecting toony drawings of a cat and a fox, with a plane moving across the top.
Text reads: I'M MOVING! After 3 years of long-distance and 18 months of the visa process, I'm finally moving in with my fiancée next month! I'm so excited to start my new life with them in Minnesota, but moving internationally is stressful, and I could use some help...

Two drawings accompanied by text against a yellow background.
Panel 1: The cat is working hard, drawing on a screen tablet. Text reads: I've been working as hard as I can to build my savings for the move, finding time around visa appointments and working through heatwaves...

Panel 2: The cat cries and rubs the back of her head, saying "Ouch..."
Text reads: ...but the visa process itself has been costly, so everything I worked hard to earn has gone straight back out to cover those expenses. Ultimately, I have the same amount in my savings as when I started preparing for the financial aspect of the visa, if not less. (and I've been preparing for a long time!)
In a small bubble next to the cat, text reads: -£££ visa medical, -£££ transport, -£££ hotel, -£££ filing fees, -££ food while travelling, -£££ rent/bills, -££ visa postage, -££££ one way flight.

I can't find a screenshot showing that he blocked me, but I found one of the tweet that probably made him do it. 😅

Screenshot of a tweet from William Shatner which reads "I'm not even going to spend time arguing with this person. Star Trek was not political in my series. Period. End of discussion. The writers enveloped & presented social issues as part of many episodes. Perhaps later series delved to politics."

After this is a reply from me which reads "Your character literally reads the United States Constitution to a goup of people and tells them to follow it in an episodes."

I have dinner with my parents every wednesday and this week my mom decided to throw me a Surprise Star Trek Birthday Party 😀🎉

My parents' dining room, with a charmingly cheap Star Trek banner hung on the wall depicting the original crew on the bridge.

A variety of Star Trek themed paper props on sticks for photos.

Me sitting in front of the Star Trek banner. There's a Snapchat caption on the photo that says "Thanks mom for my fancy Star Trek Birthday Party Banner."
