Just got my first draft of my first ever song arrangement for looper pedal, ‘ukulele and bass. Very rough, but it's the start of something brand new. Could I have solo open mic performances in my future? Maybe!

All buttoned up! Reverse camera comes on when reversing, front camera comes on when you flip the little silver switch up. Glad to be done with this project! (for now). I'll be hooking up the speakers and a microphone as well, for radio, bluetooth, and hands-free calls. In a 37 year old truck. xD

Camera kinda works (terrible video quality), and some of the fancy wiring I was up all night soldering. Never enough ground wires. :P

I'm sure no one cares, but I replaced the crusty old battery terminals with new, in prep for the stereo/backup camera install. Never seen such shiny terminals on a 37 year old vehicle. xD

I made this door. The opening is a little wonky (an inch narrower at the top), so had to build custom. Works well, and all hardware installed. Needs the rosette in the bottom opening, and to be painted and reinstalled.

Porch update! 2nd full coat of varnish on the floor! It's looking pretty great! Can't wait to get out there and use the space! Still some tidy-up on the board ends and edges, a little paint touch up, build the 2 doors, build the rosettes, and screen the whole thing in.

After 1 coat of varnish, my cedar not-supposed-to-be-flooring is looking pretty damn good! It'll be sanded and get at least 1 more coat of varnish, maybe 3 in total.

Had a gorgeous Sunday off, so I made some good progress on the floor in the porch. Painted everything with borax, let dry, then cut and installed. Need to use up this wood so I have space to fix the car. xD

Made leek & potato soup from the 4 leeks I picked last week. Nearly burned up my seldom-used blender. M'lady introduced me to the hand mixer, which would have also saved me washing said blender, and a metal bowl. Just a silly adventure from someone who never cooks anything. :P Soup is good!

Morning of day 6 without electricity. Cool, calm, and misty. Quite lovely. Took the coldest shower of my life last night. Couldn't sleep because the coquis wouldn't shut the f up, so I went out to hunt them at 3:30AM. Found and eliminated 6.

Gas generator is running, providing about 1600W. Solar is plodding along at 120W, and the fridges are drawing 160W basically all the time. The little portable panel isn't NOTHING, but it's also sort of pathetic.

Generator running for 4 hours a day, at 1500W output, to charge the battery, just to run the 2 fridges, and a few lights before bed. It's crazy how much power the fridges use - about 250W when they're both running. If I ran the computer, the generator would need to run 6-8h every day. O_o

Came up to the village for some internet access. Here was a video from last night. Nothing crazy, just a lot of rain. All that rain had to go somewhere, unfortunately it washed down in rivers and neighborhoods, took out a lot of homes. Na‘alehu is really bad.

This is my attic and the tiny crawl space above the cathedral ceiling. I had to cut up pool noodles and insert them into the ridge vent to prevent rain getting into the attic. It may or may not work depending on the direction of the wind.

It's a discontinued special edition Aria Pro II IGB-RC bass guitar. The same shape/style as my first bass, except literally everything is upgraded. Better electronics, hardware, and paint. I have rarely lusted after anything this much. xD

Like my new tailgate? Made from 2x4s and oil paint. xD Printed the letters, cut them out, lightly spray painted through the stencil, masked off the background with tape, then brushed the letters in black. Needs some touch-up with a decent brush, but it already looks pretty great.

Le‘a got her paw caught in a sticky roach trap at around 1:15AM. She was making one heck of a noise (cardboard flapping). I gently pulled her paw out of the sticky stuff, and she's fine. Silly goober.
