Plumbing pipe wrenches and a torch are what you need. I just tried to do this on my truck. I lifted the truck with a jack on the wrench, and never moved the stupid nut. Still need to find my torch and try again. The other end rotated though, so I got the alignment in the ballpark for now.

I'll have to rewrite this sheet specific to the looper. One thing I hate is people spending 20+ seconds recording the loop before they start singing, so I'm trying to optimize that.

Just played 3 songs with the band I'm in at an open mic night! Turns out the entire bar was musicians, there to jam together the whole night! But... no pressure. O_o Had to stay late and chat with some of them, and I made a contact to play again with them!! Now, time to study!!!

I wired my own EV charger into the garage, I know the deal. Had a Leaf for years. Regen braking is _essential_, but it doesn't GENERATE power, just recovers some of it while slowing down. I'm just being a pedant, feel free to ignore me. :P

Car undoubtedly already has regenerative breaking, which just recovers some energy, doesn't generate more than was put in. As long as he uses this wind contraption only while stationary, it's fine. While driving, it's a net loss. Solar might be easier, though, and could just stay on the roof.

All buttoned up! Reverse camera comes on when reversing, front camera comes on when you flip the little silver switch up. Glad to be done with this project! (for now). I'll be hooking up the speakers and a microphone as well, for radio, bluetooth, and hands-free calls. In a 37 year old truck. xD

Damn good article. I do fear for what's in their future, as the population ages, but there is also a community of Ni‘ihau descendants on Kauai. The divide between their language and "university Hawaiian" grows, and some are not OK with that. It's good to have the original language preserved.

I'm sure no one cares, but I replaced the crusty old battery terminals with new, in prep for the stereo/backup camera install. Never seen such shiny terminals on a 37 year old vehicle. xD

Advice on things to do on O‘ahu? We're taking another day trip over there, and I know nothing. Something SLIGHTLY touristy - one step above laulau from somebody's garage, but nothing like waikiki beach.

Seriously? Everybody I hung out with in 1998 played Doom, Heretic, Hexen, Mechwarrior, Duke Nukem, Descent. Also SNES, Playstation, and N64, but the computer lab was our happy place.

Even if you pick a good theme, a lot of applications theme differently inside the frame because of what libraries they were built with. Just part of the "charm". My big gripe is the window edge grab space is usually 1px wide even on a 34" screen, which makes it tough to resize windows quickly.

Oof. You gotta just want to deal with the oddities. I've been using XFce for so many years. KDE just felt bloated and goofy, and I gave up on GNOME for good when they went with Unity (H A T E). I still start some games and sketchup with wine from a terminal, because it's simpler than menu config.

Interesting that the last 24 small pieces to form the squares were super easy - all the exact same size, just had to make them level. Just finished nailing them all from both sides. Painting the corners will be annoying, but I'm proud of the design. Hawaiian style, plus a little fancier than usual.

I made this door. The opening is a little wonky (an inch narrower at the top), so had to build custom. Works well, and all hardware installed. Needs the rosette in the bottom opening, and to be painted and reinstalled.

When I was in high school, my worst fear was embarrassing myself, and that happened a lot. I still regret, a few times I made the whole class laugh at me for saying something dumb. I was bullied a lot in HS. Today, my worst fear is to lose my wife. It will happen, though, if I don't croak first.
