Today was a roller coaster at the shelter, in the processing section: walking dogs who haven’t had a full meal in weeks, or a hand offering pets; reuniting a bonded pair of dogs with their owner; taking a last walk with a dog & waiting with them for the Rainbow Bridge; see dogs go from shy to happy.

As an anarchist, I think you would be safer if borders as lines controlled by the military were eliminated. It should be as easy to pick up your stuff & move from Newfoundland to Nigeria as it is for USians to move from Michigan to California. Everyone should be able to live wherever they want.

Hades allows you to choose your weapons and the map is one way, so Hollow Knight can be super frustrating when your skill level isn’t at a point to pick up the next player mechanic to access new areas of the map. And racing to loot my own corpse before it poofs? I hate it! Let me take it with me!

I think a game is too big if I wind up using Fast Travel to get around more than walking / horseback / superheroing across the landscape. I prefer the modern Assassin’s Creed & love the Far Cry games, but once I open the map fully, I tend to Fast Travel once someone gives me a side-quest.

It’s weird- I’ve never had a rage quit moment with that for some reason. Maybe because I know it’s designed to be this way, especially with the randomization of levels. I’m not beating my head against the exact same enemy type or a specific boss just to get to the next room. That helps a lot.

I only wish the bad guys respawned, but it’s an island and not a whole section of a city. (Also, I love the McFarlane figures so much! Batman isn’t my favorite hero, but the Arkham games IMO are the best superhero games we’ve gotten so far.)

Arkham Asylum is probably one of the best games ever made. It’s not just a Batman simulator opening a trilogy, but the story and environment are pitch perfect. I might bop around in City or Knight to beat up henchmen, but I come back to Asylum for the whole story, beginning to end.

*Yeah I know I said I hate being sent back to the beginning when you die, but the game play loop is pretty short AND you get to keep your weapons & XP Skills. Plus the in-game rules of the universe have the loop as part of the metaphysical setting.
